There's plenty of good anime that most people would take seriously but a lot of people just haven't been exposed to it and are unwilling to give it a chance.

ive watched a handful of stuff and havent really gotten into it, i dont really remember the names of stuff i dont like

Well the horribly dubbed crap that comes on American tv and stuff like that is what most people have seen and that's a terrible sample to judge anime by.

I think most people haven't taken the time to watch anime except the crap that comes on Cartoon Network. They're unwilling to give it a chance because "hurr it's a cartoon, cartoons are for kids XD" and "hurr I don't wanna read subtitles fuck that shit!"

Check out cowboy bebop I think you might like that. Death Note is on Netflix and that's a thriller type anime. There is a lot of crappy anime but there is some really great stuff just like any other medium.

Speaking of Studio Ghibli, I grew up watching My Neighbor Totoro and I still love the totoro-sama so much. They are all so cute.

Yeah dude it's awesome. Samurai Champloo is made by the same guy and the whole soundtrack is hip hop. Idk if you've seen it before but i've been watching that lately and I like it a lot.

I'm really excited for Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0 to come out. The first two movies are almost better than the original series.

I can never remember what the differences and similarities between Macross and Robotech are. I think Robotech is the americanized version of Macross where they spliced up a few different series to make one semi-coherent continuity?

yeah it is

to me in terms of entertainment it sort of pales in comparison next to something like the Baby Cart series though. It's kind of old and some might say dated.
