I have to say....i think i would throw up if they did that to me

how do they make sure it doesn't just leak all the way into you eardrum or worse your brain

weird solidifying liquid rubber **** doesn't necessarily
You answered your own question :p

They take the blue stuff and mix it with something else. Maybe the 'something else' is some sort of agent to make it solidify once it comes into contact with air. Idk.

But yeah I think the pressure coming out of your ears prevents it from going any further. When they're in you can hear popping like air bubbles...that and nothing else lol. It's pretty cool.

Fatbandit: Hmmm. I guess I'll see when we do our first gig.

MIDI keyboard came today :)

And ordered a new desktop computer, this laptop just isn't cutting it for recording anymore. Going from 1gb RAM, 1.73ghz processor to 4GB RAM, 5GHZ processor. Not to mention I'll be running XP which is much less demanding on the computer than Vista(booooo!).

Recession smeshion.

I'm not that retarded.

I need to know approximately how much a used Trace-Elliot GP12 SMX 410 combo is worth.

gaslight 08-07-2009 01:00 AM

I got no idea sorry mate.

funkyhoney 08-07-2009 01:16 AM

Poo.

I think I'm just going to go harass them with some cash and my old head. See: my new thread.

fatbandit 08-07-2009 07:24 AM

Go to ebay and see if there are any recently ended auctions for one of those amps. That should give you an indicator of value

FunkMetalBass 08-07-2009 08:39 AM

I really need to get pictures of my gear this weekend so I can put it up on Cragslist and the like.

I don't like being this far in debt.

gaslight 08-07-2009 08:40 AM

It's a bad feeling but don't worry, next to everyone will be in debt at some point.
It's a bad feeling but don't worry, next to everyone will be in debt at some point.
I know, I just know that my credit looks horrible with one maxed out credit card and another with a reeaaally high balance.

Granted, I still owe $13k on my car, but that's more of a long-term debt, not something that I racked up in a month with gear and tuition. :upset:

BenJammin 08-07-2009 09:19 AM

You've only got yourself to blame for that, dude.

I pay my credit card off every month, full balance. I finished my university degree without any debt. Always spend less than you make.

gaslight 08-07-2009 09:24 AM

Oh, credit card debt is another matter :p.

I don't have or want a credit card, direct debit for me.

I've got a massive debt for my university course but I don't have to start paying it back till I'm earning over $30,000 a year. Still, I'm keen to start paying it off sooner rather than later.

I realize that it's my fault. No denying that. I do pay far more than the minimum balance, though, so at least I'm taking proactive steps in paying it off efficiently.

It's only a temporary situation (should be taken care of by the end of this year) as I needed to pay for the immediate gear upgrade, the new tires, medical bills, etc. and I have just now been able to sit down and start selling my gear.

What is/was tuition per credit hour at your university?

I'm going to take out a student loan as well, which sucks, but there's no way I'll be able to cut back my hours and pay for tuition.

It looks like my job might be able to continue into the Fall....

Doesn't Australia forgive some of your university debt/pay for your schooling? I thought I heard that from someone...

I don't really go into the office at all anyway, so I'll just continue doing what I'm doing in Montreal.

Nice. Good deal, then.

You head back soon, eh?

Efrim 08-07-2009 11:38 AM

The 22nd. It looks like I might be out on the streets for a week though, because the landlord is subletting for August and forgot to tell me I could no longer come early. Oops!

Efrim 08-07-2009 11:43 AM

Hey Ben, do you have any plans for the future yet?
Hey Joe, do you have any plans for the future yet?
Why yes, I do. I plan on moving to Canada either after college or, depending on how badly our economy starts to get, during school.

Thanks for asking.

Efrim 08-07-2009 12:03 PM

Did you get a different job or is it still the same place?

BenJammin 08-07-2009 12:06 PM
Did you get a different job or is it still the same place?
I've been unemployed since the end of June, actually. Just starting my job hunt in the near future, as well as looking for car insurance, and a place to live.

Efrim 08-07-2009 12:11 PM

These are all good things to have. How is Maude? Its been some months since we've talked, hasn't it?

Joe:
ya rite

Actually. I've wanted to move to Canada since I was 7 and we took a trip to Vancouver, and I still plan on moving somewhere near Whistler. The current state of the U.S. is only pushing me into moving there faster.

Yeah, it has been. Maude is good. I'm actually looking to move in with her, so things better be good, lol. She's finished her school year with a perfect GPA, which is quite extraordinary, and she won some scholarships for this coming year. She's got 2 more years to go, and then is actually hoping to go to the University of Athens to pursue a Masters in Greek Mythology/Art/History. So if she gets that, I'm going with her, because living in Greece for a couple of years would be incredible.

I'm hoping to get a part time job and get a tutoring job on the side, and that should be sufficient to cover my living expenses Going to try and go back for my masters next year, and see if I can finish it before Maude graduates.

Epidemechanical 08-07-2009 12:24 PM

i have a degree now and im still working at a restaurant. **** my life.

i'm an academic historian and budding sociologist that makes pizzas and fries for greedy tourists

I would kill to go overseas to study history. I'm thinking of faking jewishness to get an internship in Israel. Apparently there is a Jewish centre on St. Catherines Street that helps students go all over the place.

I love the Rocky Mountains. The snow is so different from Appalachian snow. It makes for incredible snowboarding.
