20" K Rides rule.

I have one. :)

no propellers 12-24-2006 09:28 AM

whats a good jazz ride? one that sounds real nice paired with some brushes.

and a set of high-hats that sound real smooth with crescendos.

drummguy731 12-24-2006 11:04 AM

K Hybrids are great for that stuff!

fishbulb 12-24-2006 11:34 AM

I've been hearing nothing but good things about these k hybrids, i gotta check some sound samples out.

iI just got some a cus. hats for Christmas and when i started to play them I didn't really like there sound... so I thinking I might trade them for something in the shop but I don’t really no what exact sound I’m looking for with hi-hats. I play metal but I want versatile hats that I can you for funk and other styles. Any suggestions?

Daven 12-24-2006 07:00 PM

So since i have been without a job for ages and im in need of new cymbals, i had to buy a crappy ZXT pro pack. Im wondering how long can these last if i play metal, and my technique is decent?

little_drummer_boy1 12-25-2006 04:18 PM

what would be comparable paiste cymbals to sabian paragons?

Drum Phil 12-25-2006 04:19 PM

Paiste and sabian are not comparable. Especially seeing as the paragon line is a custom signature line for Neil Peart.

paraply 12-25-2006 04:32 PM

Hey, I need a new ride, but I'm not sure which one. I want it to be powerful and "clangy", and also with a good ping sound. I play metal. Zildjian would be preferred.
what would be comparable paiste cymbals to sabian paragons?
paragons are beast, but thats just me =)

and, there are a lot of paistes.. more specific?

little_drummer_boy1 12-25-2006 04:39 PM

phil, i ment what sounded similar, for instance i own a zildjian k custom ride and i also own a sabian hh raw bell dry ride, they sound exactly the same.

i was t just asking anyone who was famaliar with the paragons and paiste and if there was anything similar

little_drummer_boy1 12-25-2006 04:43 PM

ledzeppelin, i wish i could be more specific but i dont know, that what im asking for, but im thinking about signatures (especially full crash), although they dont seem as controlable, less mellow, too much wash, what do you think?

also, im looking especially for crashes, sorry i forgot to mention

iamjoe2 12-25-2006 05:35 PM

im looking to buy a wuhan china cause there cheap.

Paiste are completely different. There isnt a comparable line.

little_drummer_boy1 12-25-2006 06:18 PM

phil, surely there must be at least one similar sound, even if the lines arent comparible

try the paragon crash and paiste signature full crash, they are sort of similar, but i wish someone could help me find a better match

Drum Phil 12-25-2006 06:20 PM

Paiste cymbals are cleaner sounding than anything sabian or zildjian produce (minus possibly the A Customs)

Paiste are unique, if you want a paragon, buy a bastard paragon.

iamjoe2 12-25-2006 10:02 PM

guess no one cares bout me

drummguy731 12-25-2006 10:04 PM

9.5" Zil Bel
Wuhan Cymbals are ok, as long as you have good technique it should be fine

iamjoe2 12-25-2006 10:12 PM

thanks bro how is it on the jolly green isle?

which size do you recomend on china?

drummguy731 12-25-2006 10:17 PM

O, I'd go 18", it's a bit chilly over here, definately not pleasant to have my new Zil Bel sit in the 40 degree weather and then have to handle it with my bare hands.

iamjoe2 12-25-2006 10:19 PM

lol thanks for the info what do you recomend in a rock cow bell?( ya i know its the cymbal thread but, its used as a ride so..... cymbal?)

drummguy731 12-25-2006 10:33 PM

Hmm, I hear the new Meinl Cowbells are good, I am in the market myself for one so I'm looking around too. They sound pretty good.

Little Android Man 12-26-2006 10:59 AM
