A couple things.

1) How do you make an Avatar with various Pictures/CD Covers that flashes through them all?

2) Classic rock fans should look up and listen to some of:

The Band, CCR, Allman Brothers, BTO, Bad Company, Beatles, Dylan, Bob Seager, Boston, Buffalo Springfield, Doors, Clapton (Cream), George Harrison (particularly His songs.), Fleetwood Mac, Free, The dead, Heart, Jefferson Airplane, Tull, Joe Walsh, Kansas, Hendrix, Rush, Scorpions, Simon and Garfunkle :/, Steve Miller Band, The Who, The Zombies, Yes, Van Morrison, ZZ top.
to name a few. All great ****.
I have looked up and listened to all of the bold bands. To a certain extent.

Nice list.

lunch998 09-03-2004 09:20 PM

Speaking of chronic, I'm high right now. Where did you guys get your Cream shirts? I can't find them anywhere.

BludgeonySteve 09-03-2004 09:23 PM

I want a ****ing cream shirt. I need some means of speedy on-line purchasing. Not credit cards. Mybe a debut card would work.

wanton 09-03-2004 09:31 PM

Anyone know of a good place to get deep purple shirts besides the machine head one?
Anyone know of a good place to get deep purple shirts besides the machine head one?
I would not advise getting a Deep Purple shirt. The Smoke On The Water n00b attacks would be too much.

I still want one. They are one of my favorite bands. I could care less if other people think i'm a poser.

I bet the trendy store at the mall has tons.

I like them. I would wear one of their shirts if Smoke on the water had never been written :D

Badmoon 09-03-2004 09:49 PM

Good for you! :)

Badmoon's Cd recommendation:

Phil Lesh and Friends - There and Back Again

Here's the line up, this should make you excited enough

Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead) - Bass, Vocals
Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule, Allman Bros, ect) - Guitar, Vocals
Jimmy Herring (Allman Bros) - Guitar
Rob Barraco (The Dead, Zen Tricksters) - Piano, vocals
John Molo (Jazz is Dead (I believe)) - Drums

The album has tons of catchy tunes, many written by Warren (One even about Garcia), Phil and Former Grateful Dead writer Robert Hunter, and even one by Garcia.

For now on, when someones wants to reccommend an album, do so.

Who cares what other people thing, were what you like is what I say

Badmoon 09-03-2004 10:00 PM

Well, if you didn't care what people thought, you probably wouldn't be wearing that shirt in the first place.

Creedence Clearwater 09-03-2004 10:20 PM

Everyones avatar on this page is black and white:

N.B- for informative dissucision I only can talk about Dylan so sorry

Badmoon 09-03-2004 10:29 PM

Garcia > Dylan

IMO

lunch998 09-03-2004 10:41 PM

CD Recommendation: Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore(deluxe 2-disc Edition.)
I'm not trying to bring the Allman Brothers up again, but these CDs are great.

Creedence Clearwater 09-03-2004 10:43 PM

Hey, Badmoon, do you have that Dylan and the Dead album, what do you think of it?

RockAndRoll 09-03-2004 10:44 PM

I definitely reccomend so far by CSNY. First album of theirs I bought. (and so far only unfortunately)

Spectrum 09-03-2004 10:58 PM

Just thinking about CSNY... how they werre CSNY, then Neil Young went off for his own solo career, then they were CSN, then they sorta went their own seperate ways and played together sometimes and now while Neil Young is still doing the solo career thing SN, I believe, just got back together and did an album. Fun how you can start as a group of four, be a group of three, a group of two... and all the while, after the lack of Y from the four, a one (Young). Random thoughts at a random time of night.
Hey, Badmoon, do you have that Dylan and the Dead album, what do you think of it?
Yeah, it's pretty good. I do prefer each of the musicians' voices when they were younger, but it is still none the less good.

StreetlightRock 09-03-2004 11:12 PM

rnr: *cries* ill have to get rid of PF, Hendrix or the other one, MX refuses to accept it, too big, even w/o Van Helen.

DVG.

pink_floyd150 09-03-2004 11:13 PM

Classic rock is actually really big at my school, alot of kids play intsurments and those that plays tons of classic rock. We have a classic rock station here called K-Rock, one of the best rated stations in the city. Lots of people wear Zeppelin shirts and stuff, its quite big. It is of course the best.

My favourtie classic bands are
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Jimi Hendrix
The Who
Van Halen
The Rolling Stones
Jethro Tull

i could go on and on and on and on

RockAndRoll 09-03-2004 11:52 PM

Wow I had a pretty bad gig experience tonight. Poorly set-up. :(. Kind of off topic but meh.

Pfft. Sounds like mainstream classic rock. led eppelin, Ac.dc, Van Halen... pretty much completely hard rock. No blues or folk or prog.

But at least it's a start.

Rockandroll: That sounds like it sucked. I've played for people once in my life (school talent show) and it was really poorly set up.

This really isn't a classic rock topic thread anymore. This is our thread for discussion. But mainly the topic is classic rock.

StreetlightRock 09-04-2004 09:47 AM

Lol, good 'nuff.

Oh yea, i forgot, one of us is playing those songs? Hendrix and can't decide on the Zep one? PLay The Lemon Song. So fing cool. Oh yea, We had a Theme party today, and i went as Jimmy Page.. Or Robert Plant (Theme was that you had to come as anything with the letters 'P' 'A' 'R' 'T' 'Y' in them *shrug) It was fing ace, I rented these bellbottoms, they had like gold sequens all over the bottom then this awsome white shirt... Real rock star

DVG.

BludgeonySteve 09-04-2004 10:14 AM

Did you expose your nipples?

Badmoon 09-04-2004 10:19 AM

I just asked for my old account to be mergered with my newer. So, I will forever (hopefully) be a more so Mx Classic Rock board elder.

lunch998 09-04-2004 10:25 AM

I've been into Classic Rock for awhile, but for some reason, I didn't get into Pink Floyd until recently. So I got Dark Side of the Moon, and now I'm basically addicted, and I realized how much great music I've missed out on for the past few years. But anyway, what Floyd CD should I get next?

Dark Side of the moon is not the best floyd album. If you really want to get into floy first get the wall. Then Wish you Were Here. Then Animals and then Meddle.

That's the floyd lover's minimum collection.

What's everyone's favorite pink floyd album?

Mine's Animals.

lunch998 09-04-2004 10:30 AM

Well I already got it just because I recognized it. I didn't say it was the best, and I know a bands most popular song/album usually isn't the best.

IAJP 09-04-2004 10:31 AM

Hey people.
I got me a greatest hits of pink floyd today.
