ugh. what a ****ty night.

i decided that my girlfriend and i should take a break. and now i feel bad. like an idiot. and then she started crying and then i got all emotional. and now i just need to smoke a pack of cigarettes.

classic rock related: i love the woodstock version of with a little help from my friends. mostly due to his frantic, drugged out flailing arms.

blue3 11-03-2005 11:16 PM

That sucks.. Well it's only a 'break' so yeah.
I watch hockey.
Same.

Sure rub it in:upset:. But ya, I suggest you watch it. Apparently he performed The Needle and the Damage Done tonight.

blue3 11-04-2005 01:40 AM

I think I'll just record it and watch it tomorrow. It starts at 1:30 and ends at 2:30.. I'm tired and sleepy :upset:

Britton 11-04-2005 01:40 AM

Dangit! I never hear about these sorta things

That's a little redundant...:p

Jacaranda 11-04-2005 07:50 AM

Darn, missed the Lou Reed talk.

I like Lou Reed, my favorite song of his is "Perfect Day", Transformer is a 5/5 or near album.
Loaded is far better then VU the last 4 songs are all perfect.
I missed Neil also although I saw Stephen Stills on Jay or Conan not long ago.
I hate Pink Floyd rumours. First we had the fake site about a new Floyd album. Now we've got Rick Wright dying. :( I can't find anything on google, so it seems like he's still very much alive.
I thought it was true about their new album...

So, I almost Finished 'Hammer of the Gods' the Led Zeppelin biograpghy, and I got past the part where Bonham dies, and Page's Heroin addiction is in full swing, and Plant's son has died. And It makes me wonder about all those rumours that circulated around them, and how Zeppelin fell apart. It made me feel very sad.

N.P - Iron Maiden - Ghost of the Navigator.

Doctor Night 11-04-2005 11:41 AM
, especially Page's heroin use.
Especially Page's Heroin use. Apparently when they did shows towards the end of Zeppelin, he was doing entire shows sat down. He was thinner than he'd ever been and he didn't move around at all. He took it everyday for 6 years and it only took four days to get him off it, and when he did he was moving around on stage, producing albums again and getting back on tour. If you've ever heard of Richard Cole, he was Zeppelin's tour manager, he was all strung out from Heroin as well, he ended up in a jail in Italy after he killed a man. He was a great motivator of John Bonham(Drinks, Drugs, and Partywise, if you get what I mean) and personally I place quite a bit of blame on him for the death of Zeppelin

magicbus 11-04-2005 12:52 PM

Can someone send out Paul McCartney's s/t and Ram?

Today in class we finished with the Stones, and listened to some of Lennon and McCartney's solo stuff. I ruled my Dylan test also.

I'm reading that book too, although I haven't had much time to get in to it. It is sad how the band fell apart. I wonder even if Bonham haden't died, the band still would have collapsed. It seems like thats the way things were headed with all those tragic things that happened to them. His death was the final blow, I think.

thickasabrick 11-04-2005 02:01 PM

Any of you guys get Readers Digest? The newest one has an interview with Paul Mcartney. I don't really have a point to this, he mostly talked about where he is in life right now and all that sort of stuff....he made a lot of jokes and I could tell he still had the sense of humour he always had, fame definitely hasn't gone to his head (compared to most famous people). The interviewer asked him for a funny story about John (Lennon) and he told the story about them in their club days when John got really drunk and came back onstage with a toilet seat around his neck...then sang the rest of the show laying down.

Anyone else read that article? It definitely wasn't the best interview they've ever had, Joni Mitchell's interview the other month was actually a lot more intereseting.

magicbus 11-04-2005 02:10 PM

I have the orange one with the Beatles on the cover, is that the one you mean? It's the November 2005 one.

Does anybody wanna try yahoo jamming later? You just need a mic, and Yahoo Instant Messenger. I really want to try it out, but I'm not going to download Yahoo if nobody else has a mic or something.

And I guess third time's the charm, cause I'm really diggin' this Blind Faith now.

It was alright, but I really don't like Joe Cocker that much, his voice is too gospel-sounding.

Okay guys I finally bought the Woodstock soundtrack. I've never seen it in stores, but I was in the A&P (grocery store) this afternoon buying a snack and I noticed that they had like a tiny little section of cd's. I didn't expect to find anything, but I looked and the only stuff they had was stuff I don't usually see like the Woodstock cd, Magic Bus by The Who, a Greatest Hits by The Animals that only covered the second half of the career, and some more stuff I never see in music stores. All the cds were 6.99 too, which is ridiculously cheap. If I had more than 10 bucks I would have bought more, but could only afford the Woodstock cd. It's good stuff.

I am weary of the Reader's Digest and it's right-wing tendancies, but I might have a lookie if Paul is in it

I think my computer is cruisin' for a crash, It won't let me onto yahoo mail, and it won't let me use WMA any more, because "an internal application has occoured

The Joni Mitchell one was really interesting. She talked about her views on music (both past and present) and her artwork, her new album, I dunno...it was a few months ago and I don't remember everything.

Broken Arrow 11-04-2005 05:36 PM

I've got the Woodstock album.....I think.
