Untitled 09-24-2006 12:06 PM

My CV is complete i think, im not confidant with it, but i doube i ever will be.

jpshortstuff 09-24-2006 12:08 PM

my neighbours payed me £15 to feed their guinea pigs + cat while their away

the only bad thing is i have to feed them in the morning and i already have to get up @ 7:00 just to get to college. looks like im gonna be grumpy on the bus this week...

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 12:12 PM

15 for how long though?

jpshortstuff 09-24-2006 12:14 PM

from yesterday till next saturday.

i know i could have just said a week, but simpleness is beyond me.

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 12:16 PM

I'd do it for 15!

Plus you can steal their food right?

Phill 09-24-2006 12:18 PM

Afternoon Guys.

/has just about recovered from last night.

jpshortstuff 09-24-2006 12:19 PM

why would i want to steal a guinea pig's food?

... orite the neighbours. perhaps but im too honest :upset:

last time they gave me £10 + 2 boxes of cadbury snaps. and it was less time. they always have different animals.

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 12:33 PM

I wouldn't steal their **** either.

Just got off the phone with my dad, talking about uni finace... so expensive!
INTERESTS
I have a fair few interests, but nothing interests me more then music. I listen and enjoy a wide variation of music, but I mainly listen to indie/brit-pop and punk/pop-punk and Ska also. Some of my favorite bands include Muse, Taking Back Sunday, and the Alkaline Trio. I often go to gigs and live shows and festivals when I can. I am also a keen Bassist, and I also play a little guitar. In the past I have played live gigs myself and would love to form a band and play once again.

Another love and passion I have is for art. I am currently studying on an art foundation course at Manchester metropolitan university and plan on going into a career involving music and art linked together. I have also been around the country visiting different galleries and museums to help me in my studies, with planned trips to London and Germany on my course.

Motoring and motor sports is one thing I have a huge love for. I’m an avid fan of the BBC show Top Gear, and my favorite sport is Formula 1 racing. Recently I have started to watch football and becoming interested in it once again, as a child I was a huge fan of Bury FC but I soon lost interest, but over the last year I have started to become very interested in it once again.

Opinions?

I dunno if its good enough for my CV

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 12:38 PM

Sounds too much like a bloody bad personal statement really.

Untitled 09-24-2006 12:41 PM

It is realy :-/

Mexican Bandito 09-24-2006 12:49 PM

put in that you're self taught at the bass - they love that :p
and don't put 'foundation art course' just put I'm studying art at Manchester Uni.

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 12:49 PM

Why so much useless detail?

Untitled 09-24-2006 12:52 PM

Yeah, sounds good.

i might just scrap it and write.

PICK ME PICK ME>!!!
Why so much useless detail?
Why not?

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 12:57 PM

Because the people choosing you aren't gonna be interested, it's not gonna help you get the job. There should be a reason behine anything you write down.

For instance : I was the president of the interact club in school, as community service interests me. Through this I gained valuable organisational skills. I also learned to work as part of a team and manage finaces.

This sorta passage shows off your usefull traits and shows that you have specific things they look for, namely ; responsibility, teamwork, leadership skills (and many more really).

You see?

Untitled 09-24-2006 01:07 PM

Well yeah, but surly they wanna see what sort of a person i am and crap too, insted of going "I play bass... and i draw..."

I see where your coming from, but i wouldnt say i shouldnt go into some what of a rant.

I mean, im applying to a gig venue, why wouldnt they be interested in all my music i listen too and stuff?

camelfarmer 09-24-2006 01:13 PM

I dunno dude, it's your choice.

If it was me I'd say that I was interested in music and mention what I played and stuff. I'd even say it was very important to me. But I wouldn't go into specifics like mentioning bands. Keep the bit about saying you go to gigs and stuff.

The arts bit looks alright...

The last para, is again a bit too much detail. Saying you like motor sport and footy is enough.

Anglachel 09-24-2006 01:17 PM

it seems like the UK forum is the only really active place n Classifieds

whats up uknians

Untitled 09-24-2006 01:18 PM

I somewhat agree with you about the last para.

Ill cut the first one down a bit, but i would say thats an important one for this specific job, any other jobs i will change it i think. I think the favorite bands will go, the bit about going to gigs can stay, music i like maybe stay, hmm, band needs to stay. I duno.
