Let's take a trial run at communism. Everyone posts a selection of songs every week, not necessarily punk, and if someone with 3+ stars likes a person's selection, they rep them. That way, everyone posts to their ability, and get rep equivalent (at the repper's discretion) to their selection's quality. What a random idea. Basically, you post a selection of songs of utmost quality to your best ability, and a repper will rep+ you if he thinks it's a good selection. You work to your best ability, and you get paid for it. Actually it's a sucky system. Forget about it, just praise mine and spirit's stanza instead.

I think it works well with some songs like Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Truth?, but yeah, you can't really sing along to any of their songs.
