Anyone seen Jack Rose live? He's coming close to me in May. I reckon he slays souls live, but it would kinda be hassle as well as pretty expensive to get to the place, and stuff.

Robert Crumb 04-17-2007 02:33 PM

He always plays this basement venue around here it seems like. I've meant to go the last couple times he was around here. But I usually forget.

So I dunno.

I work at St. Pats so that wouldn't have been me. I live right by that Safeway if its the one down by the river.

ya if you are planning on visiting missoula again please do tell. what did you think of the U?
Idk what St. Pats is, but I was at the red lion inn right there. That's nifty. I thought the university was pretty nice and stuff. I'm gonna have to check out some other schools, but it's definitely up there on my list. Everybody seemed really laid back and nice, so that's good.

I was wondering how your trip went. I ride the bus Monday through Friday and we pass right by the Red Lion. I work at the Holiday Inn. If you ever come back to visit I can hook you up with an awesome discount.

Missoula is pretty much a great place.

Yeah, they're still one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

idk what you're talking about i listen to some pretty sweet jamz

Understanding In a Crash 04-18-2007 08:04 PM

Opinions on Dredg? I'm just getting into them ugh..

Related bands?

YDload 04-18-2007 08:34 PM

they're a good band. with an emphasis on melody and a terrific singer, they deserve a lot more attention than they get in the mainstream.

i don't know many bands like them, but apparently many Dredg fans also like Minus The Bear (and i'm not just saying that cause i like MTB :))
Opinions on Dredg? I'm just getting into them ugh..

dredg is pretty much bawlin'

Triangle on El Cielo is an excellent song

as for related bands idk they have a pretty unique sort of sound. i don't think i've really heard any bands that sounded much like them.

Minus the Bear is hardly close, but i like them too so idk maybe YD is right.

Understanding In a Crash 04-18-2007 08:57 PM

What's your fav album by them on a whole?

Zmev 04-18-2007 09:04 PM

El Cielo is the best.

sexymuffin 04-18-2007 09:20 PM
What's your fav album by them on a whole?
el cielo hands down

their first album (the name escapes me atm) is worth a listen just to see how their music has matured but still possesses the same song-writing characteristics.

catch without arms has a few good tracks but is definately the weakest of the three.

Thanks 04-18-2007 09:56 PM

I always hated El Cielo and thought Leitmotif was pretty sweet.

niobium 04-18-2007 10:12 PM

I'm not really a fan of dredg. There are two good songs on El Cielo, and one on Catch Without Arms, and I don't know any of the names.

bleep_bloop 04-18-2007 11:46 PM

dude, tvotr > homework

pikester 04-19-2007 02:37 AM

I have EiTS and Andrew Bird on back to back days.

Nice.

And then Bjork 2 weeks later.

Kyle 04-19-2007 02:44 AM

I have such a killer 3 days coming up in May.

Do Make Say Think > 65 Days of Static > Battles

I love living in the UK.

Zmev 04-19-2007 02:47 AM

I like living where the sun comes out

AlienEater 04-19-2007 03:16 AM

I wish I could see Battles

ATM 04-19-2007 07:09 AM

It's worth it. They are all such wierdos haha

Plus the drummer was just chillin in the crowd before they went on which was cool.

Concubine 04-19-2007 07:22 AM

I'm seeing Architecture in Helsinki in like 2 weeks. Meh

I'd kill to see Andrew Bird live

ATM 04-19-2007 07:33 AM

I saw him live last summer.

Concubine 04-19-2007 07:36 AM
I saw him live last summer.
Here is a vid from the show I was at.

pikester 04-19-2007 04:10 PM

So Joanna Newsom is opening the two Bjork shows before the one I'm going to. I don't know who's opening the one I'm going to, but I would not be displeased at all to see Joanna again.

Bukowski 04-19-2007 04:50 PM

Patti Smith (may 22nd)
Battles (may 23rd)
Isis (may 24th)
Blonde Redhead (may 26th)

this will be a good 5 days.
