I don't suppose there could be some sort of warning/crackdown to/on the people who keep posting crap in the crap threads?
So I have decided to join the trend and make a weekly feature :). I basically had one of these going a while ago so I was wondering if you could change the names of these threads.

Guitar forum or something.

brettberry 07-10-2005 09:06 PM

i dont understand why my thread was closed. i have read the rules and see nothing i did wrong.

Bazarov 07-10-2005 09:08 PM

brettberry, solos and riff thread should have been in the guitar forum.

Iai 07-10-2005 09:08 PM
Guitar forum
That's why. It was a thread about playing guitar, not listening to rock/metal. Presumably it was closed rather than moved because those threads are overdone in Guitar.
it seems that lately a lot of people have started making weekly featured threads. Shouldnt someone gather them and post them in the Featured Articles Section?
Well?...

Riva 07-11-2005 08:18 AM

The usual answer is that all those threads get archived in my MNM threads, which in turn get archived in the rules section. However, with all these threads, it would be extremely difficult for the mods to catch all of them...

If people want to email me with their threads though, that'd make my job easier. :)

Stoic 07-11-2005 08:24 AM

I understand and I hope they email you. I get the feeling that I miss a lot of these threads which happen to be very helpful. For now, I'm looking forward to your own one with the many uploads :p

manuscriptreplica 07-11-2005 10:36 AM
Well?...
I was just about to ask that... is there really any point of Featured Artists anymore? There's at least 10 a week.

Mambuto_O'Mally 07-11-2005 12:45 PM

How do you get those avatars that are short repeating clips?

3074326 07-11-2005 12:54 PM

Those are GIF animations. There are sites out there with various GIF animated avatars, or you can buy/download a GIF animator and make your own.

brettberry 07-11-2005 12:55 PM
How do you get those avatars that are short repeating clips?
you look around for them on other websites. For instance if you want an acdc one you look at acdc websites for avatars or pictures the right size.

Mods, please close this thread. I have made a new one and it contains all the relevant info that was not in this one.

EDIT: I was also wondering if we could please :sticky: THIS thread. I believe that this series will provide a very educational insight into heavy metal, guitar virtuosity, and reasons behind appropriation by heavy metal of classical values to the users of this sight and the people in R+M.

Kill this man. I would give you example of bad posts, but none stand out as extremely bad, because they are all entirely useless. Plus the :smoke: smiley should now be banned from this forum.

brettberry 07-11-2005 11:17 PM

alright i will stop with the spamming and smileys.

Arguments

I have a problem with the new Why Does Everyone Hate Slipknot Thread. This thread brings in people who like and dislike Slipknot and causes them to argue. I dont ask that you ban the creator but ask that you delete it as soon as possible before more rules get broken and people get pushed over the line.

Just a reminder for any mods online. As to the stickying of my thread, I truly think that if it could simply be put in the forefront to be read, it would be an insanely relevant and informative source for the users of the forum. It's admittedly not the best conversation starter but it's more to be used as a referential thing, and I think users would get a lot out of it. :)

EDIT: It'll be a weekly thing, hopefully. So if that creates problems (like unstickying and stickying a new thread each week) let me know and I'll adjust accordingly. I hope a mod can think my request is ok, even so.

Six Foot Revolver 07-12-2005 10:02 AM

EDIT

what's a referral?
how can you see a user's posts in a particular thread?
what's a referral?

A referral means you got someone to join this board, or introduced it to them basically.

You can see a user's posts in a pratcicular thread by clicking on the number of posts beside the title, in the index.

Stoic 07-12-2005 11:59 AM

I would like to bring to attention that I think the thread, "Musicians you wish didn't die" or something like that, has listed just about every musician who died, and has repeated Randy Rhoads so many times it is beginning to anger me. There has been atleast one past request to end that thread I know of, and I am taking the initiative to bring it to your attention. Thank you.

Can you ban this guy, he's a moron:

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-12-2005 04:24 PM

Moses, you should probably post some evidence. At least a link to his profile and/or bad posts that he should be banned for.
