Hey all.

lowsound

lemoley 10-30-2006 01:47 PM

hey guys

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:30 PM

ben, are you out here? if you are....

here's my latest.

since i'm at school, and had nothing to do, i started something a little different than last nite. same concept, just some minor changes in the overall design. also, i found that text that brad used and messed around with it.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/British_Kid/ben%20lesser/wowzercopy.jpg

i think it looks really good, but with that font, i think it's a little difficult to tell that there is an "r" at the end of your name. it looks more like "lessen"

what do you think?

sixner 10-30-2006 02:32 PM

casual?

Yeah, I like it. I've got no beefs with the text, myself, though I wonder if you couldn't make the album title a different colour, maybe? I'm not sure what colour, but something that still matches, but is different from my name.

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:36 PM

sure thing

/gets to work

lemoley 10-30-2006 02:37 PM

hey sixner

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:38 PM

ok, how about this one? its opposite of your name now.

Schweet.

I think we're pretty much done this.

Although, if you have the patience, would you mind doing up a 1 page insert to go on the other side of the cover art? Mostly the track list, but a few other things like acknowledgements and my myspace address? Nothing fancy, just the same background with a plain white font on top?

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:42 PM

sure!

you want the whole thing to be a "combined" pic (or whatever it's called)?

like a long pic that when printed, would simply just need to be folded, or do you want a different page altogheter?

BenJammin 10-30-2006 02:44 PM

I like the colour, but it's harder to make out in the black. If the font were just a bit bigger, do you think that would make it clearer?

One long pic would be amazing. That would save me so much effort, since I suck at cutting stuff out.

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:49 PM

alright. i'll try increasing the size.

otherwise, i'll try a shade of gray.

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:54 PM

ok. changed it to gray with a black stroke around it for contrast.

what do you think?

also, track list?

white text for it, right?

BenJammin 10-30-2006 02:54 PM
alright. i'll try increasing the size.

Okay, gruel. I'll try and type up all of the random information that I want on the insert.

Yeah, white text. Doesn't need to be a fancy font, either.

Looks good.

I'll go type that stuff up.

And what's your proper name? I confess to not knowing it, and I definitely want you in there for doing this art for me.

British Kid 10-30-2006 02:58 PM

Perfecto!

British Kid 10-30-2006 03:01 PM

Okay, I'll go type it all up now, I'll have something very shortly.

British Kid 10-30-2006 03:03 PM

cool

British Kid 10-30-2006 03:04 PM

oh, also, since i have to resize to exact specs, what are the dimensions of the CD cover stuff?

also, do you need a back case, or are you not using the normal jewel CD cases and using the thin ones instead?

BenJammin 10-30-2006 03:07 PM

I'm using the thin ones instead.

I believe that CD covers are 12 cm x 12 cm.

British Kid 10-30-2006 03:08 PM

are you sure? i want to give you the perfect size.

FunkMetalBass 10-30-2006 03:10 PM

So, anybody here ever tried Salvia? And also, is Hooka addictive like cigarettes? I'm considering doing both tomorrow. I like hooka (double-apple, ftw?!), but if it's addictive, I'm going to stop. Never tried Salvia though. I've heard it's crazy. Like, 10x the hallucinogenic power of acid, no damaging effects, and a very short high.

BenJammin 10-30-2006 03:10 PM
are you sure? i want to give you the perfect size.
My friend measured it and told me that's what it was.

BenJammin 10-30-2006 03:13 PM

Okay, here's everything that I want on the insert. I'd like the tracks centered, but everything else kept to the left margin.

1. Beginnings
2. Black Wind
3. Ayer
4. Aspire
5. Static
6. As The Sun Goes Down
7. Mourning The Ocean
8. Gone
9. The Coast
10. Each Moment In Passing
11. Snowfall On The Atlantic

I would never have bothered to make this album if it wasn't for the help and support of a lot of people. Thank you to Paul, for getting this project going in the first place; Doug, for amusing me and encouraging me; (INSERT YOUR NAME) for doing the artwork; Jem, for being an ass and forcing me to learn to use a metronome; Megan, for having ever given me a reason to start recording in the first place; and Steve Lawson, for providing so much inspiration that it borders on idea theft. Everyone who ever helped me, or encouraged me, or told me that my music was good or that I was a good musician... your support was the blood of this record.

I don't think Hooka is that addictive. No nicotine. I know people who have tried it but don't smoke or do it regularly.

I have never tried it, but I have friends that have, and they said it is a ridiculously insane trip.

Hookah, though, isn't addictive in the slightest, or, at least, from my experience. There really isn't anything addictive about it in the slightest. It is just flavoured tobacco. The most addictive part of it is just blowing so much smoke and doing weird things with it. :p

British Kid 10-30-2006 03:18 PM

ok. i dont have time for all that now, but i will do it as soon as i get home.

ATM, i'm grading papers (the only downside of being a teacher aide) but i'll have the final thing done tonite for sure.
