you guys would get slain so hard in the actual pnwi forum
pretty much

I read through there occasionally, and these arguments are really lame in comparison.
i agree, miainly because people have figured out how to import drugs because they have had time to work it out. On their own customs and the police will never stop the drug trade completely, the only way it has a chance of being stopped is if the general public informed the police constantly about drug trade. But that puts the public at risk from the drug dealers. But the only way to prevent is for the public to 'grass'

btw OT how old are you?
I disagree entirely, the first step if doomed in the long run, imo, to removing illegal drugs would be to no longer make them illegal. Regulation ensues.

Police and authority groups can then target more forcefully remaining drug dealers/suppliers/growers etc
Many will have already been forced out of business by the legalisation.
From this governments can then begin to reduce supply and through various mediums decrease demand for the drugs in question and in the end wipeout the problem.

Of course this would require HUGE amounts of investment over many, many years and has various side effects such as unemployment increase and in the short term standards decrease.
The amount of investment would need to be of equal measure to both improve and expand current prison and healthcare systems. As well as focus attention on agricultural areas and "inner city" problem areas where these problems are so commonly stero typed. Investment would also have to be on a global scale with close to every nation agreeing on policies.

All of which, won't in the short run work out. Many governments are corrupt from drugs trade as such they would not agree which would insight war on varied levels.

Lastly the sheer time scale that any idea such as the above (which would, in theory, economically work) to complete it'd would take several lifetimes. Which would demand that governments maintain policies over many years. Again, something which would be very unlikely to happen.

And 18.
you guys would get slain so hard in the actual pnwi forum
Everyone has a right to an opinion over politics mate. Whether they would get "slain" or not is besides the point.
There is no easy answer in politics anyway, nothing can be that clear cut as solution 1 > solution 2. Every political policy has its fair share of faults and governments differ from nation to nation. Ideas from my point of view would differ from yours due purely to your location.

when did i say everyone didn't have a right to an opinion?

i'm just saying that the level of discussion being carried out in here is, for the most part, laughable

this is where people can yell at me for being an elitist douche bag or whatever

*shrug*

Fair play on the first point, I generalised your comment a little too much, you elitist douche bag.

people in here get too caught up on tangential semantics and a lot of the statements made are based on extremely flawed perceptions of fundamental concepts

that isn't to say it doesn't happen in the pnwi forums (it does a lot actually), but there is definitely a bigger presence of user self-moderation on discussion

yes, I can, I was expressing my view on an issue, therefore, politics.

I was doing well, i was able to express my opinion and back it up with facts. Now that is good politics.
your entire argument is fundamentally flawed

My argument is actually a good argument, backed up with fact with clear argumetns asking questions that weren't asnwered because they couldn't be answered. And you stated in your post that there were so many errors, yer I could not see any and asked you to point them out. You haven't, which leads me to assume that you can't, meaning my argument was actually pretty darn good.

Father_Jack 06-29-2006 04:21 PM
