Paul Simonon didn't play bass on the Magnificent Seven. Some guy from the Blockheads did because Paul was acting in a movie when it was recorded.
|
^Paul acting, lol. He should stick to painting. Joe was a good actor, though. Anyone see some of his movies? Mystery Train was great. Here's a couple of sample lines. Joe plays Johnny:
Johnny: Don't call me Elvis! If you can't use my proper name, why don't you try "Carl Perkins, Jr." or something? I mean, I don't call them "Sam & Dave", do I? Dave: Hey, man. My name is Dave. |
Haha.
Lose This Skin is an addicting song. I love it. |
ive decided today that london calling shalt never leave my stereo forthe rest of my life.

Lose This Skin is an addicting song. I love it.
Now I have to listen to it. Because just the mere mention of it gets it stuck in my head. Swear to God, I love Sandinista.
ive decided today that london calling shalt never leave my stereo forthe rest of my life.
Yes, London Calling is all you really need. It has it all. Perfect rock n roll album. |

Wow, i didnt know that, and the thing is i always thought that song sounded werid (bass wise), it was trebly, and pauls bass was never trebly, i guess this is why now. |

Yea, it doesn't really sound like a P-bass at all. Oh, and can anyone explain the end of Broadway? |
I've been listening to the Mescaleros a lot lately, especially Global A-Go-Go. I love the spacey world music feel of that album. Johnny Appleseed is fantastic (and has a Bob Dylan) reference but I also love Cool 'N' Out, Mega Bottle Ride and especially Bhindi Bhagee.
"It's kinda like....er....er....well..." |
^^I'm gonna start getting into all that again. My new music service has all of Joe's stuff. Even the Sid & Nancy and Walker soundtracks. My old one only had Streetcore. And my Joe CD's have come up missing. So I'm pretty cool with my music service right now.

"It's kinda like....er....er....well..."
That album rules. I probably like the title track the most, as well as Johnny Appleseed. |

The song Broadway? Which bit?
|
Isn't there a dvd called Clash on Broadway?
|
Yeah but there's also a live album and a song.
|
The song Broadway? Which bit?
The part where there's a piano playing the Guns of Brixton and there's like a 4 year old kid singing it. |
Who the hell knows. It's probably symbolic of the loss of innocence or some crap. Like Career Opportunities on that album.
|
Yea, I bet. But Broadway is a really cool song.
|
I noticed that Topper and Joe both sing the chorus to The Sound of the Sinners, another sweetass tune.
|
I just downloaded a bootleg of the Clash live at Bond's in NYC. It's 23 songs, most of which are good, but like 3 or 4 of them are too slow and weak sounding. Clampdown on there is amazing though.

I have Chaos In New York. That's a fairly strong live recording. Lot's of great stuff from Sandinista on that one.
Clash suck for old times sake
:smash: X will be in San Francisco Feb 24. You should check 'em out if you can. |
Nick doesn't go to shows.
