Does anyone know the 23 flavors in Dr. Pepper?

TheBigMachine 12-18-2006 09:50 PM

:\
Sorry, I dont.
Dr Pepper isn't always readily available where Im from anyways.

Whiskey skylines rain into the spirit seas.
If I bowed my head now, what would I see?
The taste of stale blood and alcohol hangs on my unsuspecting lips -
If I bowed my head now, what would I see?

First stanza that i think I can use since I wrote 'reflections'.

TojesDolan 12-18-2006 11:29 PM

Been drinking, huh?

Good inspiration source.

TheBigMachine 12-18-2006 11:30 PM

Always.

Nightvision 12-19-2006 12:56 AM

'sup hombres?

I've been enjoying a nice winter break, and as such have been away for a week or two.

Did we get a new mod yet? Or is there more chance of a haiku thread in The Pit?

TheBigMachine 12-19-2006 12:57 AM

Nahhh the haiku thread is going well.
No new mod.

Alls well.

TojesDolan 12-19-2006 01:11 AM

Yeah things are pretty smooth. No new moderator, despite Jeremy being around sometimes and what not. He must be busy.

And uh inspiration comes and goes so whatever. =')

Nightvision 12-19-2006 01:11 AM

schweet.

Oh, and congrats on winning the ashes. It would probably have been closer if we'd have actually picked our best team from the start, but your lads were awesome. Well done.

TheBigMachine 12-19-2006 01:31 AM

Giles wouldn't get a game in Sydney B Grade. That was a mistake.

What do you think, Jason?

Sloth 12-19-2006 11:55 AM

Ah Jason, I hate you.. I have finals this week AND THEN I'm on break.

TojesDolan 12-19-2006 06:36 PM

I've been out of school for about two weeks.

slack 12-19-2006 06:52 PM

Why do you guys critique?

Surf 12-19-2006 06:56 PM

A) boredom.

B) helps identify (and hopefully rectify) problems that you can fall victim to yourself. For example, if you can see when a rhyme is forced or a line is cliche in someone else's work, then you're more likely to be able to spot it in your own writing, and hopefully fix it.

Eliminator 12-19-2006 06:58 PM

I don't really critique.

I think it only works for a little while.

Sloth 12-19-2006 07:07 PM

oh **** you guys! This week sucks!
It's only tuesday! AH!

TojesDolan 12-19-2006 07:07 PM

a) Boredom

b) Point out very bad literature

But mostly to help, despite what I know about literature isn't that much of a huge amount of knowledge, but what I can I share it.

Eliminator 12-19-2006 07:08 PM

I think that my "This sucks" method works really well.

It's only tuesday! AH!
This week has been strange, in a good, inspiring kind of way.

Depends what you're critting; if its just rubbish stuff then you won't learn much, but the better the work you look over the better you can get. You can pick up ideas and see things you hadn't thought of. And mistakes you'd rather not make.
oh **** you guys! This week sucks!

Week was awesome. I have literally accomplished nothing.

The helping thing was something I forgot, that can be nice as well.
I think that my "This sucks" method works really well.
Its succinct and to the point. metaphorically it is the stiletto of crits, whereas the long ones are like sledge hammers.

TheBigMachine 12-19-2006 07:41 PM

I've never just said this sucks and left.

Sloth 12-20-2006 11:37 AM

2 exams and 3 left...
UGH!

I had one this morning at 8, but it's all good because my prof. emailed me and told me I nearly aced the exam.. AWESOME! I just wish I could that on the rest...

TojesDolan 12-20-2006 11:52 AM

I'm beginning to think that when I critique I'm overly subjective with the style which I always want to reminisce my own
