Yep, K Dark Crash's are fantastic.
Good to ride on?

I thought MCS were brass.

I know they're beginner cymbals though, i wouldnt bother.

Definatly B8 alloy but as they are beginner cymbals they are probably poor sound quality.

Hey up guys, I'm looking for a new ride cymbal, I'm currently coping with a Pearl 20" ride, which is awful.

I'm looking for an all rounder I guess, but I definately play more rock than anything else, and some metal too. I was looking at the K Custom Hybrid Ride, it sounds awesome (as far as I can tell from the Zildjian website), but would it be powerful/cutting enough for hard rock music? If not, can you recommend me something different?

Cheers guys.

HeLLmO 12-17-2006 06:53 AM

the K Custom Hybrid is everything and nothing, the alpha and the omega. black and white. yin and yang. chocolate and peanut butter.

Inkstar 12-17-2006 07:01 AM

Lemon and LIME.

We_Love_Lime 12-17-2006 07:02 AM

You rang?

Inkstar 12-17-2006 07:22 AM

Maybe. You woke up?

Hey guys...How are the paiste 201 crashes???? I just need some decent cymbals for my practice kit.

Inkstar 12-18-2006 07:44 PM

Yeah they should do fine.. or 502's.

Aaron 12-18-2006 07:48 PM

They're not the best, but for a practice kit they're perfect.

wes_jett2008 12-18-2006 07:59 PM

Cool,I might get them then....Right now I use the kit for jamming with a friend and my step bro..They are learning so I just need somthing that will work.

CombatWombat3 12-19-2006 11:35 AM

Hey there...

I found a GREAT deal on a paiste 20" dry ride, and I'm wondering if there are any opinions on it here. I've heard some sound clips and I've read some reviews, and I'm worried it's a little too pingy for my taste. Anyone have first-hand experience with it? I like stick definition, but not like you're hitting an anvil. A nice balance with a lean towards ping would be ideal. Anyway, should I go for it? I can pick it up for 130, it's 340 on musiciansfriend.

Druumer89 12-19-2006 09:40 PM

What are your opinions on sweet rides?

Ive heard they make great crashes but way too washy as rides. I played one in a studio once, thought it was okay but I much preferred the 20" K Ride.

Tim 12-20-2006 01:39 AM

sweet rides are pretty nice. the bell isnt big or anything but it puts out an alright sound.

I thought about getting it one ..mainly for the use of a crash, because ive heard that before also. Also, are thier any other rides in that price range that any one would suggest. That arent so washy as the sweet "crash"

Aaron 12-20-2006 09:37 PM

The Avedis 20" medium is a great all-rounder. Ages really well too.
