I think Alligator is a great song. I also think that Anthem of the Sun as a whole is a little underrated. Anyone agree?

PS nice work absolutley worshiping, whoring and slaving to The Who this week
My only problem with Anthem of the Sun is the quality of the mixing and sometimes it seems to try to hard to be overly psychedelic. The songs on the whole were great and provided them with great live material (The Other One and Alligator especially).

Yea, that's pretty embarassing actually.

Illmatic 10-30-2005 09:31 PM

No, I was making a joke.
I would be in awe if she didn't have Remain In Light.
She probably does. I don't want to go through all her records looking for it though, those 4 I mentioned above are the ones that I noticed right away.

PinkFreud 10-30-2005 10:13 PM
Torrents = So confusing I tried to get some Bootleg Jane's Addiction from it and lets just say its 2 hours I want back from my life. And 1 GB's from my hard-drive.
if you download a bootleg torrent, its going to be in a lossless format. theyre huge and you need to convert them to mp3.

torrents arent that confusing. you just need a program like torrentstorm to actually do the download, download the torrent file, and open it in the program. start it, and let it sit. i got a lot of music from torrents.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-30-2005 10:41 PM

I just got:

Billy Bragg and Wilco - Mermaid Avenue
Stevie Salas - Colorcode
Nazareth - Hair of the Dog
The Blasters - THe Complete Slash Recordings
Nirvana - Bleach

All for the amount of: 0$ :D
I think Alligator is a great song. I also think that Anthem of the Sun as a whole is a little underrated. Anyone agree?
These words should never be used in the same sentence. Ever!

...but serously......

Edit: This Billy Bragg/Wilco album is really good.

You got ripped off.
You got ripped off.
Meh....I don't think Nirvana are all that bad. Extremly overrated but nothing really horrible. Besides if I don't like it I'll just sell it.

Jacaranda 10-30-2005 10:54 PM

Now I'll ask the second question that comes after why you got Nirvana, how'd you get them for 0 bucks? Download? Theft?

Glitterati 10-30-2005 11:12 PM
I was always under the impression that Remain In Light WAS their "best-of" album.
I like Talking Heads, and I'd say RIL is their best work. Stop Making Sense is pretty good, though.

Some of you may remember (or not) a time where my dad bought 700 CD's for 50$. Almost a year has gone past since the first day I first went through the entire 700+ collection. Now I've picked out about 200 of them. Each time I go to my dad's house I pick through it again seeing if I missed anything. For example, last time I got a fantastic Django Reinhardt album and this time I got a great Billy Bragg/Wilco album.

I guess that it's sort of stealing though because I take them without his permission and when ever I start heading over to the huge stack of CD's he always tells me something like "DON'T TAKE ANY OF MY CD'S. YOU ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH DAMN MUSIC." but if I don't take the hidden gems all he'll do is sell them on Ebay for 1$.

blue3 10-31-2005 12:34 AM

700 CDs for $50? How'd he get that deal?

More Songs About Buildings And Food is very good too. Hell, all their albums before True Stories are amazing.

Presence of the Lord is awesome. Winwood's vocals are inspired and the solo's great.

Happy Halloween everyone.

np- Lola - methinks this is definitely one of the catchiest songs ever. The Kinks are awesome.

Dreww 10-31-2005 02:37 PM

Speaking of Wakemen, I love Yes.

PinkFreud 10-31-2005 02:37 PM

whatever happened to syd barrett?

Broken Arrow 10-31-2005 03:11 PM

I'm pretty horrible at harmonica. I can play "Heart of Gold' and "Out on the Weekend" but thats practicaly it. All I have is a C Harmonica, i want a bluesier one next, I heard A is the way to go but I dont know.

Yea I think Walrus said A was the bluesiest. I want a C and A next, all I have is G.

Syd Barrett went insane from the amount of acid he took. He's still alive but basically doesn't know who he is or what his life was like with Pink Floyd. Sad situation.

The Kinks are great, but nobody really seems to talk about them. All Day and All of the Night is super catchy, too.

Broken Arrow 10-31-2005 03:22 PM

Woodstock and Lunch used to talk about them alot. I got three of there album from those guys sending them to me. Good stuff though.

lux~interior 10-31-2005 03:25 PM

the only thing ive been told is that they [pink floyd] kicked him out for using too mush acid, but in later albums he would hang around the studio with the band, and that he played guitar or something in one/some songs. i dont know if thats at all accurate.

he went insane and now lives as a recluse. he showed up during the making of wish you were here, still crazy, and asked when he was going to play or something along those lines.

Krabsworth 10-31-2005 04:12 PM

PinkFreud 10-31-2005 04:15 PM
