Really? I didnt think you were that much of a moron, I guess so.

And its hard to believe you got into metal in 1988, when most of the posters here were born in 88...So are you lying? Or were you only like 5?
He was 8 back then I think. He saw Iron Maiden merchandise (or something) and he made an older dude to take him to an Iron Maiden concert. Some people were just meant to become metalheads \m/

masterchaos 09-14-2007 08:22 AM
Did I say it made me better than said person? NO. There you go adding your own meaning to something I said again. You should take some comprehensive reading classes or something.
Hahaha...Yeah I like how you mentioned Bloodbath a while ago and everybody thought you were trying to be "underground"...good stuff

Ironic, since you don't seem to know what "eclectic" means.

Well good for him.

I trust you held his hand during the show?

Stoic 09-14-2007 08:37 AM

^The truth is I could hardly walk back then :p
you what's really lame about you guys? I've actually apologized about a few things, tried to tone it down and get along and just discuss music, and you still just want to over analyze everything I say. What gives? Do you just hate me 'cuz I don't have like 5 billion posts?

Can't you just say, "Ok, dude. Apology accepted. So, have you ever heard of/do you like...?" Get over it now, 'cuz I am.
The postcount has nothing to do with how people see you, really. I guess the first impression was a bit unsuccessful. So, any love for death metal? =)

NP Psychotic Waltz - Strange

pate 09-14-2007 08:46 AM

If you hate the people here so much, then leave.
Really? I didnt think you were that much of a moron, I guess so.
I guess it's because I took a more 'traditional' route to death metal. I started off with Maiden then Metallica, Slayer, German Thrash, Death metal.

So by the time 'Metal' went a bit wierd, ie Sepultura released Chaos AD, Machine Head did Burn My Eyes, Fear Factory did Demanufacture and then Korn released their debut, I was already well into extreme metal and nu-metal just didn't seem to fit. There was no traceable lineage back to the godfathers (Sabbath, Discharge etc). I still don't view Korn etc as metal.

Everything from Priest to even dare I say it, Pantera shared common characteristics but I just don't see that in Limp Bizkit or whoever. There just aren't what metal is about to me. Hell there's bands I despise (90% of power metal for example) but I can see they're metal.

I guess I see the attractions of death metal and nu-metal as being diammetrically opposite. whether that makes me a moron is debatable. If so I blame the :chug:

What made it moronic was the fact that you thought liking a band like Korn made it unable for the listener to like death/black metal...

What about Burn My Eyes and Chaos AD was not metal?

To the second bolded: No I completely agree with you...but that doesnt mean you cant enjoy a band from each.

i am the robots 09-14-2007 11:11 AM

Jondur and Marduk represent teh mx oldschool metalheadz niggaaaa
It's definitely worth getting into. The first time I heard Lord Worm's vocals I was kinda put off, too, but after a while they grow on you and you realize that his chaotic vocals fit the music perfectly.
Not only do they fit the music, they are as brutal as this video

Stoic 09-14-2007 01:54 PM

I see :) The song I'm talking about is off Procession to the Infraworld and it happens to be the one which got me into the band. I think being so god-ish has something to do with their mexican herιtage ^_^

He said metal went weird, not that they weren't metal.

i am the robots 09-14-2007 08:48 PM

What's everybodies view on mixing up vocals? like, doing highs, lows, mids, and brees all in one song and changing constantly?

ArcLite 09-14-2007 08:54 PM
What's everybodies view on mixing up vocals? like, doing highs, lows, mids, and brees all in one song and changing constantly?
If you're referring to something like Psycroptic - The Colour of Sleep, as an example, then I'd say my view is favorable. It's just one more small thing that adds to the variety and complexity of a song. Makes it more interesting to listen to. Bitch slap me if you're talking about something totally different.

i am the robots 09-14-2007 08:57 PM

Considering Psycroptic's singer doesn't do it right at all, sort of.

He does vary ****, but he isn't good at it.

Check out All Shall Perish, their singer knows his limits.

Toaster 09-14-2007 09:04 PM

Doesn't "do it right". What is that supposed to mean?

Angmar 09-14-2007 09:06 PM

It can be nice, as long as they all sound good. It sucks when you hear like a singer who is good at highs but goes low and then just sounds terrible. But it can add a nice variety so you dont get bored with the same style.

@Robots

Txus 09-14-2007 09:14 PM

I was listening to Trauma while driving today..great death metal \m/

Angmar 09-14-2007 09:24 PM
