Haha, thanks Ali.

I'm wiping the list soon anyway. It's too much work getting the code from Riva's update and then adding everything again.

Besides, at the rate the spam is going, I'll wipe when the next page comes, heh.
what the crap is this
A thread for reporting problems, asking questions or suggesting improvements to the Rock and Metal forums. You'll find as you browse MX more that a lot of incorrect, ignorant or malicious threads are made, and that the mods who keep this forum clean can't be online 24/7. This thread is to help them keep track of the forum. If you want to help out, you can start by reading the rules posted a few threads below this one.

Go to report problem users in the site forum. Make sure it isn't the severe porblem users thread, unless it actually is.

Riva 07-09-2005 04:10 AM

Okay, I noticed that Jake has created an R&M Soulseek Thread. As much as I like Jake, and admire his posting, I feel it would be better for the forums if we edited the AIM trading thread to be the Instant Messenger/P2P Trading Thread. If a user were to create the MSN trading thread, it would mean three seperate threads all serving the same purpose: setting up direct trades between users.

The YSI thread is different in purpose, in that it provides indirect request/answer type sharing (loosely used in this case). However, if a mod could change the name of Pig's AIM trading thread to the one mentioned above, it could make it a lot easier to find a person with an album you need. In the future, we could actually edit Pig's first post to include the various handles of people who like to share, etc.

What do you think?

Stoic 07-09-2005 04:58 AM

This is a cool idea although the R&M Soulseek Thread is more for "exchanging" soulseek user names.

Riva 07-09-2005 04:59 AM

It is still a means of setting up direct trades... do you know what I mean?

Stoic 07-09-2005 05:14 AM

aha, I understand and agree. An all in one thread would be better since threads like R&M Soulseek Thread are by definition out of the main discussion theme (rock and metal artists)

EDIT

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=362968
"who do you wish hadnt died", a bit overdone

I have a request for there to be an official Mike Patton thread. This man is a legend and many on this board love his many projects. It'll get rid of the different Mike Patton threads we see daily.

The general Mod consensus is; No More official threads.

I asked a few times but nothing ever came of it so I don't think anything will happen.
I never actually got an aswer though, so even a definite 'no' would be nice.

That smiley should either be removed, or people should have to earn the right to use it.

Brew 07-09-2005 03:43 PM

Even if/when people earned the right to use it, it would still be abused.

Ah well, the guy deleted his post with it.

Stoic 07-09-2005 05:01 PM

So I have decided to join the trend and make a weekly feature :). I basically had one of these going a while ago so I was wondering if you could change the names of these threads.
