HAHAHA Shane. AHhh. Funny.

Where Eagles Dare have some really good songs, thens oem bad ones. Listen to the song Intensive Care Unit.

Crime In Stereo are good. If you like them listen to Marathon.
Marathon are good. I've only heard two songs off of purevolume though.

cbmartinez 01-09-2005 12:07 PM

I went to a local show last night and this one band Cat War were so fucking good. There like post-hardcore/indie and for there set, they strung everything with christmas lights and threw branches all over the place. The bass had some synth pedal to make his bass sound almost like animal calls or some shit, the guitar had a shitload of effects too. They had two singers who went nuts, falling on the ground and shit (it seemed like they actually ment it). And then for the last song of there set, there were about 10 people up front. 4 people just beating this african rhythm on this pair of broken drums, one singer was just chanting something, the other singer had a tambourine, the bassist and guitarist took off there instruments and just laid there chanting and there were some other people up there clapping and doing weird shit. Anyway, it was probably one of the weirdest and best sets I've seen. There music is just like this huge blend of echoing effects and weird vocals, it's hard to explain.

i think marathon is the biggest band to ever come to my town. err... biggest band that is at least a little punk

cbmartinez 01-09-2005 01:18 PM

xFourStringGrenadex 01-09-2005 02:36 PM

Haha if you like Hopesfalls, you probably love Throwdowns. Never fail to slay me.

40 oz 2 freedom 01-09-2005 02:38 PM

You suck. So do The Acacia Strain.

holy crap that was hilarious.

and so, I listened to A Wilhelm Scream, Rise Against, and Throwdown today at the mall. Add 3 more cd's to my wish list.

NewKindofArmy03 01-09-2005 07:07 PM

Check out Voice in the Wire, they're sort've like A Wilhelm Scream and Rise Against.

Check out this awesome band from around here, they're an old school hardcore band. Most of you will probably like them or might've heard of them.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 07:31 PM

The singers voice could be a little better. Other than that, they're good.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 01-09-2005 07:56 PM

I've heard them. I have a few songs on my computer. They're pretty good.

cbmartinez 01-09-2005 07:58 PM

If it was Haymaker, it's not worth it. Unless your a huge fan of chugga chugga.

So I really like Terror now. That "Overcome" song kicks it.

Not that they're hardcore, but this new Open Hand song is pretty good.

shane italian 01-09-2005 08:02 PM

Haymaker isn't much different than any other Throwdown cd other than it's got way better production and Dave isn't as good as Keith.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 08:05 PM

Throwdown aren't as good as they used to be because they traded members with Eighten Visions.

shane italian 01-09-2005 08:08 PM
Throwdown aren't as good as they used to be because they traded members with Eighten Visions.
It's so weird seeing Keith in those lame 18v promo shots.

CONNER_NWHC 01-09-2005 08:08 PM

Didn't throwdown tour with Children of bodom?

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 08:08 PM

Yeah and lamb of God, I wanted to go, but it was in the city on a wensday.

shane italian 01-09-2005 08:10 PM

New Lamb of God is pretty sick.

AARON27 01-09-2005 08:22 PM

Far Left Limit is better

http://farleftlimit.live.com.au/mp3/fll.mp3

cbmartinez 01-09-2005 08:22 PM

I thought old Throwdown was more hardcore? Not as much metalcore chug.

Edit: Wait, were there two Keiths in Throwdown? I know Keith Barney used to play guitar, but was the old singer named Keith?

shane italian 01-09-2005 08:22 PM
I thought old Throwdown was more hardcore? Not as much metalcore chug.
Nope. www.indecisionrecords.com to hear old mp3s.

cbmartinez 01-09-2005 08:26 PM

What about the Keith thing

A-Life-Less-Plagued 01-09-2005 08:29 PM
It's so weird seeing Keith in those lame 18v promo shots.
Those Throwdown promo shots are pretty lame too: http://www.trustkill.com/press/glossies/Throwdown_press_4_04b.jpg

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 08:30 PM

I think it's safe to say all most all promo shots are gay, especially for hardcore.

cbmartinez 01-09-2005 08:31 PM

Dave looks so tough. That's a badass picture. Except for the dude with Paul Frank, he should be shot.

NewKindofArmy03 01-09-2005 09:11 PM
I think it's safe to say all most all promo shots are gay, especially for hardcore.
I think black metal takes the cake for the gayest though. Check these out: http://ruthlessreviews.com/top10/10blackmetal.html

capri sun junkie 01-09-2005 09:13 PM

shane italian 01-09-2005 09:13 PM
What about the Keith thing
Keith was the original singer in Throwdown. Then he left and now he plays guitar in 18v.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 09:25 PM
I think black metal takes the cake for the gayest though. Check these out: http://ruthlessreviews.com/top10/10blackmetal.html
Haha yeah I've seen those before. It's so pathetic.

shane italian 01-09-2005 09:30 PM

Anyone have any updates on the Bane/With Honor/Comeback Kid tour?

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 09:31 PM

Praying it comes here. This guy who books shows here (plays bass in Charge) is booking bane and making it 18+. This sucks balls.

NewKindofArmy03 01-09-2005 09:32 PM

Only Philly(YES!) and Maine were announced so far I think.

shane italian 01-09-2005 09:33 PM
Praying it comes here. This guy who books shows here (plays bass in Charge) is booking bane and making it 18+. This sucks balls.
Then that guy is a douche. Who would book a hardcore show at 18+?!

Anyways, if it doesn't come out here I might cry.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 09:34 PM
Only Philly(YES!) and Maine were announced so far I think.
Where are these shows being announced? I coudn't find any on Bane's site.

NewKindofArmy03 01-09-2005 09:35 PM

When Merauder played here a few months back it was 21+, I was pissed.

chips88 01-09-2005 09:36 PM

I saw a picture of 18 visions for some ad, and they all look like little girls. I swear, they are the epitome of "scene". I like their music a little bit, but they look pathetic.

NewKindofArmy03 01-09-2005 09:36 PM
Where are these shows being announced? I coudn't find any on Bane's site.
I don't know, I found the Philly one on a venue around here and a Maine one on With Honor's message board.

Let's Chop Cats! 01-09-2005 09:38 PM

Ahhh ok. If I miss this show I'm going to throw my sister down the stairs.

NewKindofArmy03 01-09-2005 09:41 PM

I better not miss it either, it'd definately be one of the best shows of the year probably. I'm seeing Death Before Dishonor and Blacklisted next weekend, I can't wait. Blacklisted has been dropping off of every show lately, I hope they play this. Supposedly Stillborn Records are mad at them because they're going on Deathwish, but that might just be a rumor.
