Not talented or knowledgeable enough to write lessons or use guitar pro. XKCD is a little over my head most of the time tbh. Maddox got crappy when he decided to quit his job and live off tee-shirt sales.
Thanks for the links.
Then how about looking through the lessons and gaining some theory knowledge? A mind is a terrible thing to waste. And XKCD does take a fair amount of scientific, programming, and historical knowledge to get half the time - it's even over my head at times! |

go listen to it you dolts that includes you JCS
I enjoyed that. The beat in the beginning makes it feel a little off; specifically that last bass drum (or whatever) hit at the end of the 2 and 4 seems a bit misplaced imo. Once the **** kicks in it's pretty sweet though, although the main melody isn't really my style but it's still cool. reminds me of a movie where they're like overlooking the aftermath of a giant battle or something |

Check that out. Its a song with Darryl from Glassjaw guesting on the vocals. I've been listening to it over and over. |
Spent 4 hours doing it, ultimately had to manipulate the mounting bracket, but I now have a DVD/CD player deck in my car. =)
Now I have to take my dash apart (again) because I forgot to plug my clock back in. Doh! |
That's why 99% of Tool listeners like Tool though, so...
Besides that though, I disagree (what's new). I like the Mars Volta sober, they're a good band (or at least Deloused is). But stoned it makes it SOOOO much better. I dunno if you're into them but for example the extended random noise **** in the middle of the song Cicatriz ESP is just like "whatever noise" when sober, but when high it gives at least me a whole new perspective on it. Makes me realize how much it ties the whole song together and gives me a different insight as to what emotions and feelings drive the song. I mean, I'm normally against that hippy ideal that weed is like...a big deal (I haven't even smoked in months) but it's undeniable that being high and listening to music is a very different experience from listening to music sober. And tripping and listening to music is far more radical beyond that.
I don't know... I've never gotten into a band or liked a band because I was high. I just love music for music. Sure, being high can alter your experience of, well, everything, but I don't really associate music and drugs. Of course I listen to music while high, but I don't think it's better because I'm high.
nah. there are some songs i only really enjoy while i'm stoned, sure. but there is also music i only enjoy under other situations. i really only like to listen to ska in the summer ... do i really not like ska, but just like to rock out in the warm weather??
Nah, that's a completely different situation. |
I dunno, it can be easier to listen to some types of music stoned. Prime example is sonic youth because their more grating stuff doesn't really jar on your nerves so much. You can appreciate the groove they're doing because you're more relaxed to listen easily. Maybe that's just my own inability to unwind and listen a lot of the time, though. |
Tracking is finally done, mixing is well underway. Album will be done so damn soon.
Someone send me to a site I can spend all my time on. I have nothing to waste my day anymore, no idea why but for some reason my internet world is shrinking. Used to use maddox until he just lost it and I had read through all of the archives. Nah, that's a completely different situation.
I only like listening to hiphop/club type music when I'm drinking, I only listen to bands like the american analog set when I'm relaxed or doing homework, I only listen to comic music when I'm in a good mood to laugh... how are these scenarios different? |

Hey Gaslight, do you drink cider per chance?
|
rum and cider yum.
i've never had the cider that's alcoholic itself, though. |
Oh I love cider and beer too for that matter. Only fairly boutique beer though, most Aussie beer is absolute bollocks. But one of the domestic beer companies starting making a cider and it's pretty damn good!
And non-alcoholic cider is just sparkling apple juice. |

Ah I see. We don't really have that here. We have apple juice, and carbonated apple juice and cider is basically exclusively alcoholic. There's some domestic and a few English/Irish ciders here.
Beer is good if you get something good. I can't drink crappy beer, it all tastes the same and the same is ****. |
hahaha I constantly drink crappy beer. I'm a poor college kid, so that's what i can get. Though there are a few local brewers that have some good beers.
|
I don't get the poor college kid thing, maybe it's different in the US but I live comfortably week to week. Although I have taken the rest of the year off for some "me" time.
|
Well during the semester I can only work so much with being a full-time student with a band and girlfriend/social life, and I have to pay bills, buy food/groceries/gas/etc before I can happily sip on the finest beers all the time. Don't get me wrong, I occasionally splurge on a few nice beers, but for the most part I can't really afford it in any quantity.
|
Well maybe if you buy some cheap vodka to get drunk on you could afford boutique beer! Haha.
Don't get me wrong though, it's not like I drink them all the time, nor do I claim to be rich by any means. I also study full time have band and a social life, it's a lot more tiring than most people are willing to grant it. |
You know what really saves money is cutting out alcohol altogether.
|
You know what really saves money is cutting out alcohol altogether.
This is true but I already save quite a lot so I feel I'm allowed to splurge. |
You know what really would be lame is cutting out alcohol altogether.
fixd :) |
pfft, weaklings :p
nah i don't care, i'll drink if it's free :chug: |
The only thing better than a nice drink, is a free drink.
|
I prefer smoking than drinking but alas I do both.
