Man, I want Dragon to show up. Then this would be even more hilarious.
well, I like Bloodbath a lot. They're my favorite Death Metal.
Opeth (despite their "questionability" in the death metal genre:rolleyes:)

Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Death, y'know, the good ****!
Ok those are good bands. But you're assertion that "you can't hear what they're saying!" doesn't make sense if you listen to bands like cannibal corpse, since you can't always hear what he is saying.

Moon Flavor 09-13-2007 10:03 PM

idontcare= horrible taste in metal...

Treebeard: I listened to AN once before, and I found it incredibly bland. What's a good first release to pick up?

masterchaos 09-13-2007 10:04 PM
since 1990 isn't enough to make a real impact on anything?
well the only albums I saw were from 00 or 01 to 06 at the most.

and any other record site I look at doesnt show anything before 2000...do you like to be a liar?

RouteOne 09-13-2007 10:05 PM

I've been on a Vital Remains listening binge lately, and I feel guilty for it. They're stuff just kind of blends together after while but I like Glenn's voice.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 10:05 PM

Obituary's vocals are TERRIBLE

do you really think I care what you think of my taste?
You do care, thats why you're trying to defend yourself.

Nostalgia 09-13-2007 10:06 PM

No, you're just annoying as ****. That's all.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 10:06 PM

Ok, wait, just wait. if you supposedly don't care, and you aren't a troll, then why do you PMS whenever anyone says anything? If you really didn't care, you wouldn't start having a temper tantrum on the internet.

He's pretty much a troll, but I still want to hear the answer.

I'd say Eschaton definitely. They have the song I mentioned that I love so much on their myspace, and that album is pretty easy to find on most metal blogs.

Czech it and tell me what you think.

Obituary has my favorite vocals in death metal/extreme metal in general.

The stuff on myspace is what I cant stand...Are all the vocals the same as that album?

RouteOne 09-13-2007 10:12 PM

Sooooooo......Carcass is good.

Old Carcass, yes. Symphonies of Sickness, specifically.
The stuff on myspace is what I cant stand...Are all the vocals the same as that album?
Theres a fair bit of variety through the album, but it's all somewhat similar to that stuff. Did you listen to that Between Sh it... song?

RouteOne 09-13-2007 10:15 PM
Old Carcass, yes. Symphonies of Sickness, specifically.
true true. I just found a tape of Nectroticism Descanting The Insalubrious under my bed....I have no idea how it got there, but it sounds great for an old cassette

Yes, Necroticism is also fantastic. I'm not a fan of anything after that, however.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 10:18 PM

How about Immolation for oldschool death.

Angmar 09-13-2007 10:24 PM

Immolation is great, not to mention they are pretty consistent.

Yeah it was the first one I heard. I dont like the vocals and the choruses, in more than one song, were a little lame.

Invicta_Veritas 09-13-2007 10:40 PM

If you cannot enjoy AN, there is something seriously disfigured in your frontal lobe. Or something to that effect.

masterchaos 09-13-2007 10:42 PM

Judging by your myspace page...

Well I think it speaks for itself.

"Behemoth rules all, but I should have "This Calling" as my page song"

Good stuff

i am the robots 09-13-2007 10:47 PM

I have Ampere as the song on my myspace. :o

Invicta_Veritas 09-13-2007 10:48 PM
"Behemoth rules all but I should have "This Calling" as my page song"
I have a wide range of music that I listen to, not just death metal. Big deal.

EDIT: Wait, what are you talking about anyway? I changed it from This Calling to a Rotting Christ song days ago.

idontcare: I was given that nickname way back in Jr. High and it stuck. And who gives a shit what you think I look like?

Treebeard 09-13-2007 11:23 PM

Pay no mind to it all, Axl. This thread is a limitless furnace of hate.
I'm pretty well-seasoned in the classics.
So surely we should be discussing Possessed, Hellhammer, Mantas and Deathstrike then?
Most of the people here got into this stuff in like, 2004.... when it became "cool" to like metal. I bought my first Carcass album in '97 I think?
Again I'll point out that a lot of people here have been listening to this stuff longer than you. I got into metal in 1988.
I just have eclectic tastes and like all kinds of rock music, from Skid Row, to Nirvana, to Obituary to Tool, to Metallica to Arch Enemy.
The wierd thing about this forum is that being eclectic means liking Lykathea Aflame and Justin Timberlake. Skid Row are sh1t though.

I guess I agree with those who say "You like Korn so your opinion on death and black metal is null and void". I just don't see how anyone who can get down with the phat beatz can understand the music of the devil? Can you appreciate riffs from beyond the unholy grave (copyright Dargon) when you also like Nu-metal?
Anyway, just try to realize I'm not intentionally flaming anyone, I just like discussing with passion!"
The problem is that your attitude is similar to the 'elitists' of the forum. But unfortunately this doesn't really fly when your idea of underground death metal is Bloodbath. Adapt your attitude and you will learn about some great stuff.

i believe it is actually "unholy riffs from beyond the grave" but w/e.
EDIT: Wait, what are you talking about anyway? I changed it from This Calling to a Rotting Christ song days ago.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to bash or troll (honestly) but "This Calling" is really really lame (if anyone remember the pop band The Calling from a few years ago, the chorus to their song was basically the same as ATR's chorus, lol) and Rotting Christ blows. :(

Slapping Penguin 09-14-2007 06:05 AM
The wierd thing about this forum is that being eclectic means liking Lykathea Aflame and Justin Timberlake. Skid Row are sh1t though.
^^^ God I love you haha :p People do have some stupid ideas like having a wide taste in bad bands is somehow better than a narrow taste in bad bands.

Gosh, I need to start pooping in here more often, I am missing so many pages.

What, wrong with you Tojes? What you mean the drums are bad in Gorod. Least she doesn't blast ever f*cking riff.
I posted this in the Opeth thread, but I thought you guys should read it, in case you didn't happen to go there...

"A lot of folk act like I don't have any clue what I'm talking about when I've already proven a few times that I kinda do... I'm not too up-to-date with current extreme metal, but I'm pretty well-seasoned in the classics. Most of the people here got into this stuff in like, 2004.... when it became "cool" to like metal. I bought my first Carcass album in '97 I think? When I was in the 8th grade. When everyone else was listening to Smash Mouth, Filter, and all the other late-'90's guitar-less music. I liked stuff like Korn too, but I remember when I saw the first Godsmack video. I went right to school and my friend goes "Did you see the Godsmack video?" and I said, "Yeah, but I listened to Leper Messiah by Metallica on the bus ride here so that I didn't have to think about it anymore!"

I was the ONLY person besides my friend Andrew who listened to bands like Emperor, Cradle of Filth ( Dusk & Cruelty), Mayhem and all that stuff. Literally, it was just us two. I did a book report on Lords of Chaos in the 11th grade and the teacher had to "have a talk with me" after class! I did an oral presentation on the meaning of the song "****ing Hostle" by Pantera the same year and got a btter grade than anyone else in the class because I explained the meaning of the song so damn well! I'm not saying this to sound better than anyone, but man, I've been into this stuff for a while, and I feel like I know it pretty well. I just kinda fell out of it for a while too 'cuz I got bored just listening to death and black metal. I kinda went in the the "stoner rock/metal" thing for a while, but I eventually realized I just have eclectic tastes and like all kinds of rock music, from Skid Row, to Nirvana, to Obituary to Tool, to Metallica to Arch Enemy. Anyway, just try to realize I'm not intentionally flaming anyone, I just like discussing with passion!"

I'm pretty much friends with anyone that likes this kind of music. Don't get all pissed 'cuz I have a different approach on it.:chug: Cheerz f*ckerz, cheerz!
Um, how does listening to metallica make you somehow better than someone who listened to godsmack, because Metallica was pretty big even in their earliest stages.

Really? I didnt think you were that much of a moron, I guess so.

And its hard to believe you got into metal in 1988, when most of the posters here were born in 88...So are you lying? Or were you only like 5?
