Metallica has sold out. They tried to go with speed metal, but it doesn't work for them. They have turned into a bunch whiney bitches and need to depussify themselves if they want to make anymore of a comeback in the metal world.

I don't think that they are trying to be a different genre(speed matal). I think that they are just trying to get back to there roots with Thrash metal. But by everyones opinions it would seem that they have fallen short of it. :upset:

TallicaChic 08-08-2004 07:39 PM

If The Call of ktulu or Orion had lyrics, what would they be?

chazmaz11 08-08-2004 07:55 PM

Man, i love them. i dont think there is one song that i dont like by them. i am seeing them in 10 days in milwaukee, and its gonna be the time of my life! you never know what could happen, and now i can say that ive seen them!! I think Godsmack was a nice add on, they will pump up the crowd a bit before the masters come on out! James' voice is great, and lars works the drums quite nicely too! ill be posting here alot!!

Kingofdudes 08-08-2004 07:57 PM
If The Call of ktulu or Orion had lyrics, what would they be?
I read in a different thread that Call of Ktulu has something to do with a book, so I guess the lyrics would have something to do with that book.

Bulldogabel 08-08-2004 07:59 PM

Wtf?

Yea that post was directed at me. Maybe I'll read it and then write lyrics for kicks.

Na too lazy.

AndrewHarris 08-08-2004 08:03 PM

h.p. lovercraft was the author of the book
click Here To Hear The New Metallica Album!

i can imagine an idiot try to click that over and over

edit: deleted your post eh?

dead56k 08-08-2004 08:09 PM

yeah the song was just inspired by the short story. however, the Thing that Should not be was also inspired by call of cthulu. The song even uses lines from the story, such as "Not dead which eternal lie, Stranger eons Death may die".

alcoholocaust 08-08-2004 08:09 PM

Think Metallica will do a greatest hits album anytime soon?

i dunno... maybe after this next album. itd be one big album if they did it. i dont really need to buy it, iv got all the studio albums i believe. i wanna go buy the some kind of monster single though, just for the live songs.

Kingofdudes 08-08-2004 08:19 PM
You mean the Unnamed Feeling?
nope, they released some kind of monster as a single, and it has a bunch of live songs on the cd

alcoholocaust 08-08-2004 08:23 PM

I'll be sure to download those as well. MWUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!11

dead56k 08-08-2004 08:30 PM

yeah, i think im gonna go pick it up tomorow. and some other stuff, as iv finally saved up some money to buy a couple of CDs.

alcoholocaust 08-08-2004 08:33 PM

I wish I could buy CDs now, rather than blowing my money on my new guitar last week, and some new clothes today.

dead56k 08-08-2004 08:35 PM

heh. iv got about 1000 saved up for a new bass amp. but i try to keep some money set aside for buying little stuff, like CDs and clothes i want.

Hardest_Rocker 08-08-2004 08:36 PM

Ive got all the 'Tallica albums so I wouldn't need a greatest hits album.

Well, I guess I'd buy it so I can continue to have every album and to support the greatest band still around today! :thumb:

Kingofdudes 08-08-2004 08:37 PM

If they do release a greatest hits, maybe they will have live tracks on it, then it would be more worthwhile to buy.

dead56k 08-08-2004 08:37 PM

yeah. well theyd probably put some bonus tracks on it anyway, all greatest hits CDs have something extra on it.

Last Ditch Effort 08-08-2004 10:28 PM
yeah. well theyd probably put some bonus tracks on it anyway, all greatest hits CDs have something extra on it.
Not all, but most do and I think they should, so collecters have a reason to buy the album other than to complete their library of albums.

dead56k 08-08-2004 10:43 PM

yeah exactly what i was thinking.

RavenousMetalist87 08-08-2004 10:54 PM

Like how Van Halen did it with their new double disc?

playguitar 08-08-2004 11:33 PM

What songs would they put on their greatest hits? They have too many greats.

dead56k 08-08-2004 11:49 PM

yeah my guess, theyl take a few from each album:
kill em all:hit the lights, seek and destroy
lightning:for whom the bell tolls, fade to black, creeping death, maybe ktulu
puppets:battery, master of puppets, maybe orion
justice:blackened, one, harevestor of sorrow
black:enter sandman, sad but true, nothing else matters.
load:king nothing, until it sleeps
reload:fuel, memory remains
garage:whiskey in the jar, last caress
st anger:frantic, st anger, some kind of monster

theyd be best off to do 2 volumes, one with the early years, one with the 90s and st anger.

what do you mean they tried to be speed metal? Their first album basically started it

appreciate_it 08-09-2004 02:27 AM

ok, off the point a bit, i've got a question...
The first time you heard it:
Did you like Enter Sandman better or fade to black?
The second time you heard it?
Once you knew both songs well?
I was Enter Sandman First, then every other time i liked fade to black...
Don't ask me why i started this, i was bored, n listening to the fade to black solo, which i love, so i'm like hey, i may aswell.

Squirrel 08-09-2004 02:37 AM

I didnt like Enter Sandman when i heard t, nor do i like it now.

Fade to Black i liked, then loved, now i havent heard it in about a month.

The Bell Tolls 08-09-2004 08:41 AM

I've always liked enter sandman and fade to black, fade to black is a lot better though.

Zmev 08-09-2004 08:44 AM

Enter sandman was the first song ive heard by them and it brought me intoi their music...i didnt hear fade to black until later
