g. 99 were a punk rock band from Sterling, Virginia on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. The band formed as a 6-piece in winter 1998 and later expanded to an 8-piece. Always changing members, they once played as a 14 member outfit.

i couldn't get off work to drive up there and see it. having responsibilities can suck at times. i'm hoping some of them return next year, since i'll be living in gainesville then.

StandingStill 01-26-2006 05:44 PM

I might fly over and go next year. The line-ups always awesome and I could use a holiday.

If that's from wiki, it's probably wrong.

Shikyo 01-26-2006 07:29 PM

Wow is right. They might of had twelve people TOTAL... but that's because they have changed members often. I don't ever remember hearing that they had over ten members, that's a little rediculous.

cbmartinez 01-26-2006 07:40 PM

They have 8 members listed on their level plane site and I think I read something on the pg99 website about having 10+. Whatever though.

Wow 01-26-2006 07:42 PM

KFS had 14 or something, doesn't mean it was all at once. :p

whiteminority 01-26-2006 08:15 PM

That would make for an odd show if all it once.

Mattfanatic 01-26-2006 08:37 PM

it's so frustrating to have songs and no band

Go solo like me. Ask Neeshee how much Knifai (My solo project) owns.

(It actually sucks but he loves me.)

Mattfanatic 01-26-2006 09:28 PM

mp3s?

you know i used to just play by myself, i'd play guitar and kick a bass drum and that was the band... but it got old and i wanted to make good sounding music with like drums and bass.

the concentration of people who listen to good music is very small, and then factoring in the ablility to play an instrument...

it's impossible haha

k1ckthecat 01-27-2006 12:39 AM

CTTS is coming here feb 11 w/ Junius and Love Always Your Friend.

anyone ever heard of the other two?

edit: holy shit junius are terrible, why they are touring with CTTS is beyond me.

Look for people that live somewhat farther away... perhaps they will have the will to travel just to play and such. There ARE people that are in the same situation as you, me being one. If all else fails. Buy a xtrack recorder (depending on how layered you want everything) buy all of the individual instruments. Play one instrument, record, play second record over it. and tadah. You have a song all by yourself. I did that last year as a two peice band with a friend.

EDIT (to k1ckthecat) - The other band has a horrible name too, so most likly, horrible band. I really hate it when good bands play with some of the worst bands that you've ever heard. :(

Sep 01-27-2006 07:14 AM

In the booklet of Document 8 it lists 9 names. I always wondered what the hell the 9th guy played if they have 2 vocalists, 3 guitarist, 1 drummer and 2 bassists.

How weird would that be if it WAS all at once?

Wow 01-27-2006 01:17 PM

It'd be better 'cause I doubt the full length would blows as much as it does if they had that many people working on it.

2 drummers,. That would be interesting. It could be 4 guitarists or something.

has two drummers at points.

conniption 01-27-2006 09:26 PM

I have Source Tag's & Codes. It is pretty good. The only time I've seen two drummers playing at the same time is during a split set. 'Twas sweet.

Luxor 01-27-2006 10:46 PM

When I saw Modest Mouse they had two drummers for a couple songs.

Mattfanatic 01-27-2006 10:50 PM

the band nervous cop is just two drummers i believe

Sep 01-28-2006 12:39 AM

When I saw Bright Eyes they had two drummers. Also Fugazi uses two drummers in one or two songs I'm pretty sure.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 01-28-2006 12:42 AM

I didn't know Pg.99 had 2 bassist...

yeah i found out they're a local band and it's their first show.

their influences are CoC and 1905 tho so they can't be THAT bad knock on wood

emo bands generally have some pretty bad names but they make up for it usually.

No, it's because it doesn't matter and me, torn, deadohiosky, and whiteminority are the only people here who buy vinyl consistently. (Consistently being multiple times a month.) Everyone else just has 5 records and since people here are retarded, they'd just talk about those over and over and over and over like they do with the 15 bands they know. :thumb:

whiteminority 01-28-2006 08:49 AM

It doesn't. The guy threw it away 'cause he hates razors.

whiteminority 01-28-2006 09:27 AM

Oh, is that a full length or a a 7"? I know they had only one release (at least I am almost positive they had only one) and I can't remember if it is a 12" or a 7".

on a side note that is only important to me, I am tied with Dfelon for posts in this thread.

I ordered it about a month ago and was in negotiations but VLV crashed so yeah. We'll finalize it when it's back up.
