why do people generally dont like TWNAH? I think its a very underrated album, especially the song "Promises".
It struck me as a little bland really, rocked live though.
Our bassist in my GB class actually got a blister underneath his callous. How the fu*k do you do that?
That's what I managed, it's painfull.
I mean, I practice 4-7 hours a day on 10 gauge strings and put alcohol on my fingertips every night, I don't know why mine are so crappy.
Strange that you don't get proper callouses.
Also, I wish I had that much time to practise each day :-/

Toaster 11-03-2005 05:57 PM
Yeah mine too, and I take too long showers though I do my best.

I mean, I practice 4-7 hours a day on 10 gauge strings and put alcohol on my fingertips every night, I don't know why mine are so crappy.
4-7 hours a day?? Honestly? If you're serious you're pretty dedicated. I can hardly find 3 hours a night, if I'm lucky.

FatalEnergy 11-03-2005 06:20 PM

I'm a bass player and I use 110 gauge strings, so I have some mighty big callouses. I practice about 3-5 hours a day, depends on how much homework I've got

MAthiAS 11-03-2005 06:52 PM
4-7 hours a day?? Honestly? If you're serious you're pretty dedicated. I can hardly find 3 hours a night, if I'm lucky.
Yeah, I've been practicing way more since school started, weird as it sounds. Over the summer it was 3-4 hours a day. I never do homework at home, at least before midnight, so it gives me the time.

Sometimes I'll fall asleep though and only manage 2-3

I usually like to dedicate at least 6 hours a day to music though, between piano and guitar. I post on here during my 10 minute breaks I have to take every hour because of my leg falling asleep.

If I get a new guitar I'll put 13s on it so I can get my callouses going, and strengthen my fingers some more.

Chu 11-03-2005 10:22 PM
Tab things by ear. Start with simple things, but things that you like. For example, I started by tabbing out loads of hardcore punk. Then move on to more complex stuff... like anything... it takes practice but you really get to analyze a song and it gives you ideas for original material, plus having a good ear is a must for being able to translate ideas from your head to your guitar.
I would love to be able to tab by ear, but I have no idea where to even start...
If you guys (Who have already been a big help! :D), could show me the right direction where to start, please?
Lol, like me and callouses. My callouses suck.
Wow, taking into account your cover of Holy Wars, you do the huge bends.. Maybe I'm just thinking about myself here (I do bends with one finger usually), but they would hurt your fingers if you didn't have strong callouses?

Edit: MAthiAS did you look at the albums I had to offer?
I don't have a way of printing the albums I have out like you have (Unless I did it all manually, whih would be a bitch), but if you want either of those 3 albums I previously mentioned I will upload them, I also have heaps of 'Singles' by those bands (Singles are just songs I have from albums, but not the full album, if you get what I mean).

Britton 11-04-2005 01:27 AM

Britton 11-04-2005 01:39 AM

I listen to both.

I'm not a fan of techno or anything...but props if you can sit down for
hours and edit that stuff.

and then have some freakin hot european chick sing on it

Jev 11-04-2005 01:52 AM

I could edit it. I could make a living out of it. Editing music doesn't really bother me no matter what it is.

Ostrich Man 11-05-2005 04:37 AM

I don't mind Megadeth but Dave Mustaine seems to me to be a bit of a sissy.

Anyone agree?
