The only Primus albums I own are Pork Soda, Tales From The Punchbowl, and Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People, as well as the Hallucino-Genetics Live DVD, but I've heard most of their other stuff... except I've never heard the entire Anitpop album. I need to hear that album.

Purple Onion is such a good CD.

irishslappop 01-30-2005 10:36 PM

really? i havent gotten tooooo into any of claypool's side projects. i just hear all of them are crappy primuses....idk i'll download some off purple onion.

Lay_Down_The_Groove 01-30-2005 10:37 PM

man i wish i went to the primus concert last year when they were here i didn't know about it till after

irishslappop 01-30-2005 10:38 PM

omg that sucks. i havent heard of any happening lately. i'll go to any one as far as 100 or so miles.

rybass 01-30-2005 10:39 PM

So why did they break up? Or is Les just doing side-projs and that all?

Spaceman Spiff 01-30-2005 10:40 PM

I disagree that the other projects are just crappy Primus-wannabe bands, it's that Les Claypool's playing always stands out so people probably assume he is just trying to emulate Primus with all his other bands, but this is very untrue. It's just that his writing and playing style cause the bass to stand out, but in reality, the bands tend to sound rather different because he is always working with different musicians.

Lay_Down_The_Groove 01-30-2005 10:42 PM

ya i like his side projects as well

rybass 01-30-2005 10:42 PM

I think I've decided that for my third bass, although I have no clue when I will get it, definately not until I have a job, but it still might be quite a while after that, I would like a Fender American Jazz, possibly fretless.
