Funny skiing story:

I hit my head off a thick tree branch really hard and had dried blood in my hair for about 5 hours without noticing.

Mute Print 10-13-2005 05:56 PM

The only time I ever skiied was in like 5th grade, and all it was was cross-country skiing around school grounds.

On a ski trip at school, my friend crashed and almost completely severed his tongue.

Mute Print 10-13-2005 05:57 PM

That's pretty gross.

Gnarmageddon 10-13-2005 05:59 PM

Yeah, it was disgusting. It actually looked worse with the stitches in it.

That sounds pretty crazy.

One time, I saw my friend go off a jump. And from one side it looked tiny so I followed him (keep in mind this is my first time skiing) and it turns out the jump was actually about 6 feet high, and I hit it going pretty quick. When I hit the ground I bailed so hard, both skis came off and I lost like half my clothing from sliding down the rest of the hill.
I don't ruin your mogels the guys where ever you ski ruin YOUR mogels haha. I don't usually use moguls I use mine for jumps mainly and for half pipe runs. I also think when people are on snowboards they look cooler than people on skis I think skiers look kind of funny.

Funny snowboarding story. There was this big *** double black like overlooking the place where I went last winter and me and my buddies were going down it and this is right at the main lift where a majority of the people go up. So me and my buddy are makin maybe our second run down and I start off carving really quickly then I start carving real wide and bam, my buddy cuts me off and I bite it bad. I roll like halfway down the hill then stick my edge into the snow. I feel my head and my hat is gone I'm like where the #### is my hat and the people on the lift all like point up the slope and my hat is laying like 20 feet back up the hill. It was intense.
Using moguls for jumps ruins them. /win

Crazy ski story:
I was racing my friend down this icy black, he was a little ahead, and I cut a turn tight to pass him, wiped out on the ice, and whited out after several flips and god knows what else. He doesn't know this so he hangs out at the lodge for about 10 mins, starts getting worried, but it's starting to blizzard so he thinks I probably lost a ski or something and am just catching up. Plus he thought he won so he was still happy. So after some amount of time I wake up...gather my hat, skis, poles, etc which are scattered over a 50 yard stretch of slope probably and ski down. And man does he feel like a jerk  I did get a concussion though :-\ Since then I wear a helmet :p

 I have a story almost exactly like that. Only I wasn't a brand new skier...I was just going fast and the jump came out to a cat walk. I've never had a harder time getting up in my life. My skis were perpendicular and one was straight in the snow.

Crazy sledding story:

My cousin and I went to a friend of my parents' house, and we took our sleds. They had a huge hill in their front yard, and we went down that for a while. We started getting bored, so we were looking around for another hill. There was a really steep hill leading into the woods over at the side of the yard. My cousin went down slowly and made a trail with a small turn to the left. After he was done, he tried it out and it seemed pretty cool, and he didn't have any problems. I tried it, but I only weighed maybe 70 pounds, so I didn't have enough umph to go along the trail, and I ramped off of the bank for the turn, flew into the air, hit my head on a low branch, flipped, and fell maybe 10 feet into a pile of brush. I got a concussion, and there was a huge lump on my head for a while. It sucked.

Semi-Crazy Sledding Story: :p

Maybe 4 or 5 years ago I went sledding with my brother at a public hill near my house. After a little while, I decided to go to a different part of the hill where I notice there was a ramp about a foot and a half high. As I was taking my first run at the ramp, I fell off my sled and smashed my head on the ramp, which was very hard since it was so compacted. Then, a few seconds later, my brother came down the hill on his sled, and ended up hitting me in the ribs. It wasn't fun.

Did you even read the story?

It was a very fast sled.

Edit: It was a crazy story. Not a crazy sled. Well, the sled was crazy too I guess.

Brandon and I went tobogganing at his grandparents house. We made a ramo and everything. We put Brandon in the front and me on the back. Well, I'm much bigger than him(probably 6'0" at the time) and Brandon is much smaller(probably 5'0" at the time) and well I landed on him and pretty much buried him in the snow. Good times.

That reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes.

Pazz 10-13-2005 06:20 PM

I don't know what we were thinking putting me in the back. It was obvious I would land on him after going off the jump.

Yes, but it's just...sledding. Not something intense like skiing/snowboarding :p

It doesn't help that when we went off the front end went down into the snow so the sled was perpindicular with the ground.

Allofmeoliveme : Thanks for the AFI track, i really enjoy it. Reminds me heavily of Bloc Party, and the bridge is top notch. Also thanks for not banning me after my spam fest in The Pit earlier.

So I just noticed that 'Degenerated' by Reagan Youth sounds exactly the same as 'Dinosaurs Will Die' by NOFX.
