Before the Flood is a cool Dylan/The Band album.
|
Hey Blue Sky, could you possibly upload those albums when you get a chance?
Also, while on the topic of Mister Blue Sky, anyone who wants to upload some ELO will be my bestest friend ever. |
Never heard it before
|
There's a long way to go before this thread closes we have another 783 pages, I believe
I didn't like PATGOD at all.
/waits for neg rep from Schyma It never appealed to me I guess. I'm still giving Madcap Laughs a chance.
If you don't like PATGOD then you're pobablly not going to like Madcap Laughs. I'm not going to negative rep you over an opinion BTW.
NP: Bob Marley-Rat Race (live) I didn't know reggae could be this good.
I seriously can't get why anyone wouldn't like Raggae. Out of all the different types of music I've heard Raggae/Dub would probablly the easist to get into.
How dare you not have this! My favorite album of all time ever!
With good reason too. I can't enough of it lately the only weak song on the entire album is"Les Brers In A Minor" and even that's not too bad.
The cover of Eat a Peach, but the peach has been turned into a pumpkin for Halloween, hence "Eat a Pumpkin."
That's the coolest Holloween avatar I've seen. :thumb: Doesn't anyone know why the cover of Eat a Peach is a peach truck?
"Mountain Jam," a sprawling 33-minute jam that may feature a lot of great playing, but is certainly a little hard for anyone outside of diehards to sit through.
I used to think they were 100% right when they said this and that it was the only flaw this album had had to offer but the more and more I put it on the more and more it seems acceptable. It's my favorite song on the album now. :) |
I just got an e-mail from John Mclaughlin. :D
I e-mailed his contact e-mail on his offcial site and he e-mailed me back. |
I just got an e-mail from John Mclaughlin. :D
I e-mailed his contact e-mail on his offcial site and he e-mailed me back.
A personal e-mail or a mass-produced e-mail? I went to be early and woke up to find not 10, not 15, but 18 albums in my inbox :D Life is good |

I think that song is great, but they could've cut down the 3 minute intro type thing. I might be able to upload Eat a Peach for the few of you don't have it. I don't know though because I'm leaving to go to WVU to visit my brother. |
A personal e-mail or a mass-produced e-mail?
Personal. I told him how much I like his playing in a long writtin paragraph and he said: "Thank you so much for the appreciation - it makes it all worthwhile. best wishes John" Didn't have much to say but at least he read it and sent back. :) NP: Family Affair - Sly & the Family Stone |

Hey, what'd ya think? |
Speaking of John McLaughlin.....does anyone have any of his solo material?
|
Schyma, are you asking if we know why the cover is a peach truck? I thought a lot of people knew why
Getting emails from John McLaughlin is cool. |
Speaking of John McLaughlin.....does anyone have any of his solo material?
I have Passion, Grace and Fire, which isn't solo per se, but it's not Mahavishnu Orchestra either. |
Speaking of John McLaughlin.....does anyone have any of his solo material?
I just have his album he did with Santana. |
Speaking of McLaughlin, can someone upload some Mahavishnu Orchestra? I've heard some of their stuff, but don't have any albums.
I'm going to upload PG&F right now. |
If anyone's still looking for Physical Grafiti, I could upload that. I rarely listen to it 'cause I don't like Zep but I do have it.
|
i have a ton of mclaughlin solo work. i also have satriani albums. any requests?
|
i have a ton of mclaughlin solo work.
What's a good acoustic album he's done?
I just have his album he did with Santana.
Any good?
|
hmm.. well, as mentioned before, theres the essential friday night in san francisco he did with paco delucia and al dimeola. thats mostly speedy, slightly flamenco tinted, acoustic shred. amazing guitar work.
his work with shakti and remember shakti is great too. all acoustic world music-type stuff. and his album with santana is great. intended as a tribute of sorts to john coltrane, they both really rip it up. very good album. |

erm, anything a bit more specific? haha. like. do you want his older solo work before mahavishnu orchestra when he was kind of bluesy. or his post-mahavishnu 70's and 80's work? or his work with shakti. ive also got more guitar trio albums. and more mahavishnu albums. he also has some more recent albums with dennis chamber or tony williams. and its all great. haha. |
