I don't really like Dream Theaters singer to much... must be an aquired taste.

Im buying Awake next time im in a city. Only one that my local music store doesnt stock. So a nice taster would be nice

He's the reason I don't listen to them. That and I haven't found a song that lives up to The Glass Prison (instrumentally, at least).

I like Petrucci's playing, but it isn't enough to warrant listening to the whole band when I dislike one aspect as strongly as I do the singing.

The vox are quite annoying, as he ahs an alto range voice, instead of a tenor...it just sounds wrong most of the time...but you get used to it.

Anyone can have The Glass Prison in that link as long as it still works.

The Glass Prison sounds kinda cool. But I liked A Change of Seasons a lot more because wasn't as much of a shred fest.

The beginning instrumentals of The Glass Prison are so dark and cool. Then the voice comes in and takes away all the darkness.

i'm sorry sliptallica, you sound quite annoyed about this. If you suggest some tool related topic that hasn't eben discussed a million times we'd gladly put some input in there. But using this thread for new music is a great tool (hehe) i think, as we all like similair stuff...

AAGHGH!! The longer this goes on the cheeiser it gets. The keyboard are downright foolish, and the voices around 6:30 and the high singing at 7:00 onwards are ear-shatteringly cheesy.

Lately things I say seem to give off an annoyed tone, I have no idea why, but I didn't want to sound annoyed at all. I think it's great conversation about a great group of bands.

Balls? It's all about knowing where your feminine side is and knowing you can resort to it (another day, surrounded) but still being able to rock out (take the time, metropolis) Yeah I+W has got balls.

Precisely. The first day I'm getting it, I'll blast it on the surround sound. My crappy computer speakers (relatlively speaking) can't compete with that. Not to mention, I love the thrill of opening a brand new CD and looking at the artwork as I experience its ambience.

I know how you feel. I wil be dong this with Tool. Even though i think they will try hard not to allow it to be leaked
