I watched like a song of Winds Of Plague and left. They were meh. Their new keyboardist is hot, but not as hot as the old one.
Ha we left right after DI and got back to our city before midnight while also getting Cookout :)

Dimmu Burger 02-03-2010 11:50 PM

The first local band I saw was horrible. The second one, An Obscure Signal, was quite good. Lots of juns.

For Today guy did a speech about Jesus and stuff. It was ok. SFTP guy did a quick one too which was cool, about everybody uniting around music etc.

Nepenthe 02-03-2010 11:58 PM

that sounds ****ing lame hahah

Endangered Oddity 02-04-2010 12:03 AM

That's funny you mention An Obscure Signal I added them on Myspace today
The one time I saw For Today they preached so much it was annoying, but they were pretty awesome so that made up for it.

If you guys get the chance to check out the Veil of Maya,Animals As Leaders,Periphery, and Circle of Contempt tour do it! I went 2 nights in a row and it was amazing both times.

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 12:06 AM

I like For Today tbh.

Endangered Oddity 02-04-2010 12:09 AM

As Do I, they're vocalist is one of the best i've heard live.I just wish they werent so damn preachy.

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 12:10 AM

Yeah **** off having a message bring the juns.

SFTP didn't give a speech for us.

See Tuesday night, he only had one speech for maybe 3 minutes most and people were already getting pissed.

2muchket! 02-04-2010 08:44 AM

People paid money to see them play not give them entry level bible readings.

**** off with that ****.

encmetalhead 02-04-2010 11:10 AM

See if people paid money for ,usic then why don't they tell every band to stop talking? Just because his is a bit longer and about god doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to talk when every other band sometimes talks between songs.

SlightlyEpic 02-04-2010 11:56 AM

or maybe he could stfu and play music like he's there for

it's not as bad as that one emo band that had an emotional breakdown halfway through their first song and started talking about the worms being killed or something

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 12:47 PM

the worms come up from the ground when it rains to escape drowning
but when the sun comes out and dries the ground the worms can't go down through the pavement
we are those worms

What's wrong with people using that venue to say what they will if it means a lot to them? I think it's completely respectable.

SlightlyEpic 02-04-2010 12:49 PM

idk, it would just put me off going to the show. I mean, I don't mind if it's just a little but if it's more speech than music I'm going to be pretty pissed that I've paid to see it.

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 12:51 PM

I've never seen a band that was more speech than music lol.

SlightlyEpic 02-04-2010 12:52 PM

Neither have I, I was just being facetious. My point still stands though, if I'm paying to go to a show then I'm paying to hear them play music, not for them to go off on some preachy rant. If it's a free show then fair enough but I don't really wanna pay to hear that ****.

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 12:55 PM

Well regardless, a band has every right to speak their mind, and I respect that, and I think it's immature to and impatient to criticize them for such things. :o

Txus 02-04-2010 12:56 PM

lol bible reading

fags

Xplisit 02-04-2010 12:56 PM

@ mapz; it's because you try to be all religious and stuff

but i mean really if you're a band then you're a band. you play music.

you're not a motivational speaker

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 12:58 PM

To quote Rifles At Recess: you're there for the wrong reasons.

I guess. It stills puts me off wanting to go see them live though. Assuming I had any interest in seeing them live to begin with.

Xplisit 02-04-2010 01:00 PM
To quote Rifles At Recess: you're there for the wrong reasons.
lol

being at a show for the music isnt the wrong reasons

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 01:01 PM

Going there with the attitude that they're just there for your entertainment is going for the wrong reason.

Xplisit 02-04-2010 01:02 PM

if a band showed up without their instruments would you be satisfied with paying $40 to watch them chitchat about all the things they worship?

witchxrapist 02-04-2010 01:03 PM

No, but that's not what we're talking about.
