It's still a stupid comparison, and Last.fm kiddies submit similar artists.
I thought it just compared listenings between users with high playcounts of said artists |
playcount, group connections, tags, etc.
also saying that Honeywell and The Pine are similar is silly. saying that they played to the same crowds in the same time period is just blatantly *wrong*. |
the algorithm used by last.fm to determine similar artists is most likely fucked up in some way or another. i haven't added any bands to that database so i'm not sure how it works really
|
who fuckin cares, shit

Their S/T 12" is one of my favorite '90s emo albums ever.
I only have two 7" from them, one is S/T the other is These Last Days. What songs are on it? |

the water song shoulder
Yeah I have that labeled as Evergreen 7" idk, shit is fucking awesome though forreal. |
i just call it the trudy pushpin 7" because of the first song, but the s/t label makes more sense.
|
Evergreen >>>> The Pine
not really. I'll jam both. |
IMO
obviously |
The Pine just have so much material, that it takes a few listens to really appreciate it on a less shallow "hey this is cool /bobs head" basis.
but Evergreen are obviously mad good. "Bullyrag" is amazing. |
I usually listen to a song 4 or 5 times before I really enjoy it. I never really listen to a song once and immediately like it - it takes time and on more listens I tend to appreciate it much more.

«RentAmerica are responsible for the most absurd performance I saw of this era. They took awhile to set up, then they literally played a blast beat for like two seconds, and then they were all on the floor crying and rolling and crawling around. No more music was played. Also, the singer made a speech about refusing to use a microphone because it was elitist and placed him above the crowd before they played, so for the two seconds they played he was just yelling into the air. They were just lying on the floor crying for awhile, and then one of them started yelling “the worms…the worms…oh my god…the worms” and made this teary eyed speech about how because of the human race putting concrete and asphalt all over the earth when it rains the worms come out and can’t find their way back to the earth and die in the sun on the concrete. At this point, people just started laughing and the rest of the set was spent by RentAmerica yelling at the crowd for not taking them seriously and about how it took so much guts to show that emotion in front of a crowd.»
old, but still funny. download the band here: http://thatspunk.net/blog/2010/09/agna-moraines-autobiography-rentamerica-split/. |

It depends with me tbh. But yeah did you check out any that shit I recced brahzinski? |
99% of the time I instantly enjoy it. but with more listens often comes a better grasp, and a greater appreciation.

Heaven in Her arms, yeah. I liked a few songs but I need to listen to it more definitely. |
