Why are guitars so damn expensive? Mine cleaned me out completely, and it was far from the most expensive guitar on the market. Damn corporate greed.

but the thing is, i was looking to spend about 2500 on a PRS, since they are so expensive. this JUST happened to come along, be the EXACT guitar i wanted, and its less then what i would expect

Haha, sorry, man. I might post it in L&R because it has a lot to do with R in terms of friends and how years fly by and people change and all that other good stuff. That's also why I was talking about mediation in that review I wrote for TTF... it's a position I've basically been forced into. You can tell which presents are wrapped by me just by looking under the tree. While my mom's are crisp and flawless, mine use way too much wrapping paper and tape, and look like a preschooler with Down syndrome wrapped 'em.

Wrapping presents gives me a great deal of trouble aswell, I had to wrap some yesterday and there was tape all over the place. Still, it just gets ripped off again.

here is a good one.

so yesterday im on my way to work, and i need gas for my car, and there is an accident on the road i take to get to work. I call work and tell them the story and they are like "we dont care about your gas, get here, if you run out of gas, we will make it up to you, but you need to get here" so i get there. Work is the same old same old.

So i get out, and pulling out of the car park my car just dies, no gas. before i get to call AAA (the american automotive company for break downs that everyone uses), a tow truck pulls up behind my car. Turns out its a AAA guy, and he brings me some gas, i was back on the road in less than 10 minutes. Usually it takes AAA at least 2 hours to get to you.

well with PRS guitars, a lot of it has to do with the wood that it is made out of. PRS guitars are made out of extremely rare and expensive hardwood, which helps give them the sound and feel they have which is so distinct. Of course though, just like with any product, some of the price does go towards paying for the brand name.

Instead of wrapping with paper, wrap with a towel. All you have to do is cover it up, and it's re-usable for every year!

Agreed - I suck at wrapping presents. However, I'm nowhere near as bad as my ADD younger brother...I already know what my gift from him is! (Spiral Architect CD. God I love that kid)

i never had my own, i had my mate's. then he wanted it back :( i mean, he has 2 electric guitars and an acoustic, why'd he want his bass?! :( i may have to wait until next summer to get one though.

probably just a cheap encore thing, that comes with an amp, just to save money. i'm not good enough to warrant getting a more expensive bass, that one's about £150.

I had to cut parts of the paper sticking off the present...:(

i suppose i really should wrap the presents i've bought. i can't really be bothered though. but tomorrow's my only free time before christmas i think. oh well.

Very very few shops in America do that. :(

I went to Germany and got a box of chocolates, and they even spoke to me in english and asked me whether i wanted it wrapped.

Some places do. Usually the higher-class really-expensive stores, or online shops. But the common places that 95% of Americans buy from don't do it.

Compared to other nations, America doesn't seem like a hospitable country at all. :( Nobody here can speak foreign languages very well to acommodate (sp?) people from other parts of the world.

I'm the same. Luckily enough my sister really, really enjoys wrapping presents for some reason, so I never have to attempt it.

Have you ever asked? Some - I hesitate to say many - will wrap stuff on request. Some stores set up wrapping services in little customer service parts, I think.
