As cliche as it is, Animals is probably my favourite.
Atom Heart Mother is one of PF's finest work :)
That's one of the very first CD's I ever bought. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is fun to listen to :)

It is good song. My opinion has no real value, though, considering how easily I'm amused by the cereal crunching on that song.

Kaiwaz 04-24-2007 09:29 PM

yeah its "The Dark Side Of The Moo."

MattSharpIsCool 04-24-2007 09:46 PM

Guys I won a movie today from a radio station, thanks to Floyd.

They were doing a thing called "my two songs" where they play two songs that have a connection, and you have to guess it and you win something.

They played "Seamus" and "Dogs Of War", connection being dogs. It wasn't a very hard one, but still, hooray!

Riva 04-24-2007 10:43 PM

Very good. At least it wasn't as obvious as Dogs and Dogs Of War. :p

But alas, it is definitely one of their finest moments.

CockeyedMaverik 04-25-2007 11:35 AM

lol ur worrying about being cliche, my fav pf albums are animals and dsotm followed by wish you were here and the wall. i win the cliche award:naughty:

Leper 04-25-2007 02:29 PM

I think my favourite might always be Meddle. One album that's really starting to grow on me, though, is More.

rippa32 04-25-2007 05:41 PM

Yeah Meddle is a great album and apart from Echoes and One Of These Days it's different to your average Floyd.

Riva 04-25-2007 06:28 PM

The first 6 songs on More are really the best songs that Pink Floyd produced in that early period of their careers.

Kaiwaz 04-25-2007 06:40 PM

The best lyrics on any song.

MattSharpIsCool 04-25-2007 07:33 PM

I really need to listen to More a little bit more. I can't find it on CD anywhere though, and the one time I found it on vinyl, it was an import that cost 30 bucks. I've got it on my computer, though.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-25-2007 07:39 PM
The first 6 songs on More are really the best songs that Pink Floyd produced in that early period of their careers.
Are you kidding? More sucked, probably their worst album.

Kaiwaz 04-25-2007 08:54 PM

Some of their best earlier work appears on the album Relics. I'm just waiting for a metal band to cover The Nile Song.

Leper 04-26-2007 12:37 PM
Are you kidding? More sucked, probably their worst album.
I didn't like it at first tbh. Wouldn't say it's their worst album though. For me, that title goes to AHM.

Cymbaline is an awesome song.

Danger Bird 04-29-2007 12:12 AM

AHM is so good, I really don't understand the hate it gets.

rippa32 04-29-2007 12:51 AM

I havn't heard it myself but I've always considered getting it since I saw the cover :p

Riva 04-29-2007 06:53 AM
Are you kidding? More sucked, probably their worst album.
The remainder of the album is fairly poor, but in the late '60s era it stands out to me.

This is after PATGOD, of course.

Voivod did, it's pretty cool.

Leper 05-06-2007 02:37 AM

Has anyone heard Roger Waters new album? It it any good? The first single he released was decent...

Riva 05-06-2007 05:39 PM

Not yet. It sounds fairly similar to Amused To Death from a sample I heard, however.

Danger Bird 05-06-2007 06:01 PM

Did anybody else think "wow, Syd Barrett" the first time they read William Blake?

Leper 05-06-2007 09:24 PM

I've never read William Blake so...no.

Speaking of Syd Barrett there's some annoying commercial on t.v. now with a blond girl dancing around who looks like she could be Syd's daughter or something haha.

Collis 05-08-2007 03:13 AM

Last night was seriously one of the best of my life, I went to see Roger Waters at the MEN!

He did all of Dark Side of the Moon, 3 off WYWH, 1 off Animals, a few off The Wall and 1 off The Final Cut, oh and Set The Controls For The Heart of the Sun :thumb:. He also played a new song of his own, called Leaving Beirut, which to be fair, was awful, the lyrics were cringeworthy (Political, as you would expect). However apart from that the show was awesome; the lighting, flying pigs, the sound, Sheep :)

However, it is SO annoying listening to people have conversations whilst you're trying to take in the sounds on stage. Seriously, they pay £50 and talk all the way through! I don't get it ...

Leper 05-08-2007 05:33 PM

Please tell me the song from Animals was Dogs...

Please...

TojesDolan 05-08-2007 05:46 PM

I'd piss my pants if I listened Dogs live once.

Riva 05-08-2007 08:07 PM

It was probably Sheep.

Kage 05-08-2007 08:09 PM

Why is Roger Waters playing a bunch of Pink Floyd tunes? Hasn't he got his own repretoir by now?

Lunch 05-08-2007 08:10 PM

Cause he's makin big bucks saying he's going to play all of Dark Side

Riva 05-08-2007 08:11 PM

He mixes the Pink Floyd stuff with his new stuff. Since he owns the copyright on most of the songs it doesn't cost him anything, I think.
