damn. nice man. i've never gotten to chance to play on any a platinums.

Drum Phil 11-30-2006 03:44 PM

Best. Ride. Ever.

stevensonmat2 11-30-2006 04:04 PM

That ride phil has looks alot like the cymbals a friend of mine's dad has, he has 2 crashes, a splash, hats and a ride. He doesnt play much anymore, Im going to try and get the whole kit from him. (the kit is a vintage gretsch, he bought it in the 70's and even then it was a vintage.)

Seafroggys 12-01-2006 12:27 AM
;13731058']good luck finding those. i've never come across them, nor has anyone i know.
hehe, my high school's set had a pair of Platinum New Beats.

The rest is history.

LoneStarDrummer 12-01-2006 12:35 AM

i'd imagine you'd love those. you seem rather passionate about the new beats lol and i've heard the platinums are nice, but i've never even heard them.

Seafroggys 12-01-2006 01:22 AM

heh, those were the cymbals that made me fall in love with New Beats. Best sounding cymbals I've ever heard/played. My pair has nothing on these.

Aaron 12-01-2006 01:53 AM

No one cares if you like new beats or not, we're all sick of hearing it. quit being lame and only say things that are useful.

quit saying useful things? Okay...

I don't know what your problem is. I can understand this response to my posts where I just reply with "New Beats" but we were on the subject of Platinum Zildjians, and I talked about my experience with them, that experience being me playing on my school's set of New Beats, and because I loved those cymbals so much I, in turn, loved them in general.

So shut the **** up.

I found a brand new 22" A custom ping ride for $200.
Could someone tell me a little about it? Anything at all.
I think I may have tried one once and liked it, but I cant remember and I don't want to pass up the deal. Maybe if somebody describes it I can remember.

Seafroggys 12-01-2006 03:23 AM

Not too sure on that A Custom, but I have a regular A 22" Ping Ride and its bloody awesome.

Denny 12-01-2006 03:48 AM

I've also found an awesome deal on a 20in A custom projection ride. I want to use it for Church, but also use it for harder music as well. Is there any wash? I just assume its a thick cymbal. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

drummguy731 12-01-2006 09:24 AM

^^It's a heavy cymbal, it's got some undertones, so probably a little wash, but not much

Drum Phil 12-01-2006 11:23 AM

Projection ride:

Thanks, but that link didn't work, and besides, I was looking for a personal experience. If anybody has one, let me know. Thanks again.

Hello
Im looking for a nice versatile ride, mainly for rock/ funk
Id like it to have a fair bit of volume, but not too over bearing. I dont reeally know much about cymbals as there are literally no music shops in my area that sell decent cymbals. So help would be nice :) Thanks.

ludvista29 12-01-2006 05:03 PM

HHX Groove Ride?
22 A Med Ride?

Drum Phil 12-01-2006 05:06 PM

20" HH Rock ride (the name gives it a bad reputation IMO as its a lot warmer than any other rock ride)
21" HH/AA Raw bell dry ride?
20" K heavy ride?

the_pure_drummer 12-01-2006 05:12 PM

eBay is your friend, Tom. :)

drumtoke 12-02-2006 01:42 AM

Im looking for a ride that has a nice bell, and a crashy but smooth sound (if that makes sense). It would be used to play speed metal.

Those hats are awesome!

My church has some, and they are good stuff let me tell you.

Honestly though I would get some 14 inchers but either way it's good stuff.
