Yes I know, the TYR album is way too underrated, of course it's the only Martin one I own but I'm assuming there all underrated. And as for Metallica it's my third (I already have the Black Album and Justice for All) but this is my favourite, something great about the whole thing (escape is a bit weak though). I wish I had discovered the music I listen to now in 7th Grade, it took me until the 10th.
I got into the classic rock n metal in like 1996 when i was like 12 and into power metal around age 15.

As for Tony Martin albums id say TYR is as good as any of them!! To many timeless tracks on there not to be!! Eternal Idol is just as good as is Cross Purposes (probley the best with him IMO). Headless Cross is good but not the best, Forbidden is a skipper yet...the song "Rusty Angels" as ive said before is one of the best songs Iommi ever penned.
Titch: Mr Wilkinson likes Sabbath!
I know he put some on in 10th year when me and dean asked what song it was on his laptop (i think it was hole in the sky or supernaut)

i voted geezer, if i can remember my other account password i would vote again, but i cant so...
I suck at choosing what albums to buy when I have money :(
Sabotage is next for me

No doubt sack-man will want to lend that aswell

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-09-2005 03:53 AM

^^^

Sabotage is my #1 Sabbath cd by a long-shot. You got to be a real fan to really appriciate it, not the best recordings and very abstract songwriting. Really at the top of their game musically and lyrically.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-09-2005 03:59 AM

From Geezer about the Setlists and how PREDICTABLE they are!!

"I mean, I think we're all desperate to do new stuff," Geezer said of the thorny subject of the SABBATH live setlist. "But Mr. Osbourne won't do it. We're dying to do new stuff. I'm almost dreading playing the same 10 songs again, so hopefully we're going to talk Ozzy into doing some things." -GZR

rippa32 07-09-2005 04:55 AM

Yes I heard about that, one of the many reasons Ozzy is bringing sabbath down. I don't have Sabotage but I am a huge fan of Vol4, it took a while to grow on me but now I love it. I have heard Hole in the Sky, Symptom of the Universe and Megalomania from the Past Lives album though. Probably my three favourite songs so sabotage might be my next album. I was considering getting the Black Box set shipped from America to Australia though.

Blow On A Jug is a great ending to that album :)

Someone could do with giving ozzy a slap, with songs like 'psycho man' and 'selling my soul' it's obvious that they could make more great songs.

Haha

Ozzy bites head off pet dog.

Thunder Fingers 07-09-2005 03:38 PM

just came back from thegig, they where bloody great! though.. ozzys voice turned weaker towards the end... i think they might have cutted some songs...

Brew 07-09-2005 03:40 PM

What was the setlist?

Or can I hazard a guess?

Thunder Fingers 07-09-2005 03:45 PM

its probaly the same as the regular they use with ozzy :p as he refuse to play anything he didnt record? i far from remember all the songs, but N.I.B, fairys where boots, paranoid, the wizard, black sabbath, iron man are the ones i remember the name of... if i use time to think, ill probaly remember more...

Brew 07-09-2005 03:50 PM

Hehe, he does refuse to play anything from the 80's or 90's which sucks but is fair enough I s'pose.

I'd love for them to play some other Ozz-era songs though, such as Tomorrow's Dream, Megalomania, Sabbra Cadabra, Killing Yourself to Live etc...basicly what they used to play before Ozzy got old and whatnot.

rippa32 07-09-2005 05:12 PM

Apparently they are playing Symptom of the Universe, but it's instrumental only and on top of that they only do the first half of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Ozzy's voice couldn't have gotten that bad.

Brew 07-09-2005 05:13 PM

His voice for Symptom was bad enough on the Never Say Die DVD.

rippa32 07-09-2005 05:15 PM

What was wrong with it? Is it he can't reach the high notes anymore?

On symptom of the universe is the sick drum solo there? Is it as good as the original sabbath?

Brew 07-09-2005 05:16 PM

He hasn't been able to hit any decent high notes for years.

rippa32 07-09-2005 05:20 PM

Yeah that's what I thought. Although his voice has gotten better since giving up the drugs. If you listen to his Ozzmosis album you cann see that his voice is alot better than before, but still not as good as when he joined sabbath.

Nate2008 07-09-2005 05:59 PM

I agree, Ozzy's voice is better than ever.

rippa32 07-09-2005 08:03 PM

Well maybe not ever, it's still not as good as in the early to mid 70's.

haha, look on any best of cd and there ya go  i crack myself up
He hasn't been able to hit any decent high notes for years.
what makes me mad is he claims "i can only sing certain songs" and than he cant even pull those off! Id rather watch him struggle through other songs than the same old ones.

Brew 07-10-2005 03:38 AM

I'd like to see him struggle through some Dio, Martin, Gillan and Hughes songs, they all did their best on the Ozzy songs so it'd only be fair for Ozz to do the same.

classicrockman 07-10-2005 12:15 PM

Is anybody a fan of Black Sabbath with Dio??

I think Ronnie James Dio was just as good as a singer as Ozzy was, if not better. I think he needs more recognition.

Listen to 'Heaven and Hell' 'Live Evil' and 'Mob Rules' :thumb: :thumb:

Nate22 07-10-2005 12:39 PM

The Dio era albums are all great. Other than Paranoid, Heaven and Hell is my favorite Sabbath album. Live Evil is one of my favorite live albums. Dio is an awesome live singer.

you forgot Dehumanizer and Live Evil :p

Brew 07-10-2005 01:21 PM

I really like everything Dio has ever done, back from his days with Ronnie and the Red Caps, Ronnie and the Prophets, Electric Elves, Elf and Rainbow, right through his Sabbath years, then his solo band Dio.

Great guy.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-10-2005 02:11 PM

I have somewhere between 25-30 cds with Dio at the helm and i enjoy the majority of all of them (a few weak Dio albums here and there lol). Elf was suprienly a great find!!! Wonderful three albums he put out with them, really strong music and his vocals are still as potent as they were on those early 70's releases!! you just have to love Ronald James Padavona....oops, i mean Ronnie Dio ;)

Brew 07-10-2005 02:14 PM

For a short guy, he really does have a huge voice.

It'd be really bad if he started shrinking in old age...
