Dungeon = quite excellent. They have a good sound...
Did you see the response to your post on sputnik? Me and James both commented.

Jono, are you going to see LORD at Brute Force Fest?

Also, which of these Blind Guardian albums should I pick up first? Nightfall In Middle Earth, or A Night At The Opera? I'm already a fan of SFB.

JausmetalJ 03-25-2006 12:01 AM

Just looking through my Black Majesty booklet, and in the centre is a whole 2 and a hlaf pages of bands that have been released by LIMB music.

Anyone know of these bands? and what do you think of them?
-casus belli
-adagio
-archetype
-burning point
-concerto moon
-godiva
human fortress
-icycore
-innerwish
lana lane

And theres heaps more.

Steerpike 03-25-2006 12:04 AM

Human Fortress. Very cool. Not as over-the-top as Rhapsody, but still a great power metal act.

Not sure, doubtful though.

I recognize these. Casus Belli and Innerwish are greekie bands, no idea how they sound like.

If I'm not mistaken, Adagio are symphonic prog and used to have a famous (appears in lot of bands) keyboardist (Richard Andersson)

Human Fortress are power, somewhat poor for my liking but still their vocalist rips.

Arhcetype is an incredible power/prog band I've whored in the past. http://www.archetype1.com/downloads.html

...and speaking of incredible power/prog whoring, look what these Italians did back in 1988:

/stoicy's current favourite band.

Stormrider 03-25-2006 06:57 AM

I hnoestly havnt ooked ikn a store for any Dungeon. Next time I do will though.

Though I was surprised to find an Angra album.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-25-2006 07:00 AM

Somewhere Far Beyond is actually starting to grow on me a little

Stormrider 03-25-2006 07:05 AM

I didnt even know you didnt like it before :-/ :p

NP Atheist - An Incarnation's Dream

Apocalyptic Raids 03-25-2006 07:14 AM

Well I wasn't all that keen on it.

I still prefer Battalions Of Fear though :-D

Stormrider 03-25-2006 07:46 AM

BoF was my first Blind Guardian album. That was back in January. So I wasnt new to the band when I bought it.

Then it was Follow the Blind. So it started out buying BG albums chronologically :p

Great stuff though.

Majesty owns.

Is Follow The Blind similar to BoF?

Stormrider 03-25-2006 07:52 AM

Yes very similiar. Its that same speed metal stuff. If you like Battalions of Fear, then You'de like Follow the Blind.

I learned Majesty

On BoF, I realy like Guardian of the Blind. A song that isn't talked about realy :-/

Apocalyptic Raids 03-25-2006 08:14 AM

Yeah that's a good one too.

Looks like I'll need to get Follow the Blind then :P

Lord Abortion 03-25-2006 11:45 AM

Human Fortress are awesome.

I have Defenders of the crown and it's one of my favourite PM albums.
They need more recognition, methinks.

I'm pretty sure Suffer Our Pleasures is the only one currently in circulation, though eBay might have some vintage CDs.

shadow_stalker 03-26-2006 06:38 AM

oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, a band played at the comrades club last night (the pub i work weekends at) and they played 'waiting for an alibi' and 'severd ties', i couldnt believe it :D
I'm pretty sure Suffer Our Pleasures is the only one currently in circulation, though eBay might have some vintage CDs.
damnit i really want more cds, and i refuse to get an ebay account on the grounds that i will end up buying random crap just for the sake of buying it if i get a one

JausmetalJ 03-26-2006 07:27 AM

Awesome shadow_stalker.

Did you have a talk to the band?

Did they do good covers?

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2006 08:00 AM

Unusual choices for Dungeon covers.

:amaze: OK, that's just freakin' bizarre!

I could understand Waiting For An Alibi 'cos it was origininally a Thin Lizzy song that we covered but Severed Ties? Really odd..!

dUSK 03-26-2006 08:27 AM
Unusual choice for a Dungeon cover.
Fixed. :p

Waiting For An Alibi is a Thin Lizzy song.

EDIT: Beaten by the man himself.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2006 08:28 AM

If they had done something like... Insanity's Fall or The Art Of War I wouldn't have been suprised, but Severed Ties is quite an odd choice.

Lord Abortion 03-26-2006 12:13 PM

If I covered dungeon songs, I would do Traumatised, I am death, Lost in the light or against the wind.
You hear that Titch?
Awesome shadow_stalker.

i didnt recognise most of the songs they did, the only other metallish song they did was nothing else matters by metallica

it was actually at a wedding reception thing (which is the main reason i was surprised to hear it)

didnt really ge the chance to talk to the band as it was quite busy

i would do legend of huma just because i am obsessed with the Dragonlance books (its also an awesome song but still...)

Lord Abortion 03-26-2006 01:21 PM
i would do legend of huma for the sole reason that i am obsessed with the Dragonlance books
And you need to lend me some of those.

NP-Sabaton-Burn Your crosses.

Is it just me, or do most PM bands tend to stay away from religious material?

Iced Earth have a couple, but...

JausmetalJ 03-27-2006 12:14 AM

I'd have to do The Power Within and Tarranno Del Mar.
