I am supurised I did not think of that.
I'm not a Queen fan but I 've heard alot of there songs so how do they remind you of space?

StreetlightRock 09-02-2004 10:01 AM

Old Western: Allman borthers (Its the 'western' bit that did it for me... hey you said first band that came into mind rite!)
Medieval: Zepp
Outterspace: Floyd
Texas: Lynyrd Skynyrd
Mountains: Eagles
Lazy: Deep Purple (The song... Lazy...)
Psychedelia: Pink Floyd
Bluegrass: Blues Brothers (The movie... that song where they play in front of the country/western crowd, lol)
Blues: Rory Gallanger
Evil: Black Sabbath

Oh and talking about the police, what d'yer all think of Sting? Hes still making some beautiful music i reckon, fields of gold... and has anyone heard his cover of Litte Wing? So relaxing.

DVG.

monkey_chops23 09-02-2004 12:05 PM

why in the HELL are there people talking about rap, not only in the rock and metal forum, but in a classic rock thread? are you stupid????

Paranoidd 09-02-2004 12:11 PM

Before you guys write off the police as some catchy, 80's pop band, do me a favor and listen to some more of their discography, specifically the "Sychronicity" album. they are more than just some catchy tracks, believe me.

We talk about what we want. This is hardly a concept thread anymore. Now, it's more of a chat between several active posters.

Now, please leave.

Badmoon 09-02-2004 03:24 PM

Don't bother, John Popper from Blues Traveler kills 'um all at harmonica :p

Broken Arrow 09-02-2004 03:26 PM

yea well i was lookin more at classic rock than Blues because Blues would beat the hell out of any Classic Rock Band.

lunch998 09-02-2004 03:30 PM

Jack Bruce does some decent harmonica stuff. Rollin' and Tumblin' is a great song.

Love Me Do has a great harmonica.

dustyboy316 09-02-2004 04:18 PM

you don't know how I feel by Tom Petty has a good harmonica.

Woodstock 09-02-2004 04:29 PM

Where do you guys get those great avatars? Could you help me find some?

Mary Janes last dance is a great song.

magicbus 09-02-2004 04:58 PM

Whoo!#$ I'm so excited my stomach is rumbly. Me and might friends MIGHT play in our city's upcoming fall festival thing. I'm thinking of playing Hey Joe, Money, and a Zeppelin song. That's what the kids favor these days, and they shouldn't be too hard for someone inexperienced in that genre. Like the drummer. Any suggestions on other songs?

I still say Synchonicity is their best. Ghost in the Machine is nice as well.

You sound like just another band over come by trend. If your going to cover a great song play a rather unpopular one so dont be trendy. Resist the trend!!!!! ........or your be no different than all pop bands that sound the same.

magicbus 09-02-2004 07:32 PM

I can't decide on a zeppelin one. Right now I know What Is and What Should Never Be, Immigrant Song, and Dazed and Confused. I know parts of others, but those are the only three I know all the way through.

As for Money, I can play all of that. I looove those solos.

magicbus 09-02-2004 07:33 PM

Also I only chose Zeppelin, because thats what the people at this fair (freshman dorks) would wanna hear. I'd rather play some Cream songs and Yes, but nobody knows them.

EDIT: Also we're not really a band, just a few guys gettin together for this one show. Which makes it even more exciting.
