Pete: Red

masterchaos 08-12-2007 07:36 PM

Ok so I listened to a couple King Crimson songs. Not my thing, but it wasnt bad.

Makes me think of " Heeey Aqualung" hahaha. You probably dont find that funny but its all I can think of when I heard the song "I Talk to the Wind"

Every single song is incredible. I hate to recommend single songs, you need albums.

But, if you insist:
21st Century Schizoid Man (Just to be generic)
Cirkus
Larks Tongues in Aspic pt 1 & 2
Red
Fracture
Starless
Dinosaur

Not a good song to represent the band.

At all.

pulseczar 08-12-2007 07:43 PM

I like that song. And Jethro Tull. you people are offending me

Kage 08-12-2007 07:44 PM

It's a good song, but hardly a song you can listen to and dismiss the band for. They've got such a wide breadth of material.

masterchaos 08-12-2007 07:45 PM

Its relaxing stuff thats for sure. The only album I could stream was "In the Court of the Crimson King"

Kage 08-12-2007 07:45 PM

King Crimson is not a relaxing band.

Lunch 08-12-2007 07:45 PM

21st Century Schizoid Man is not relaxing. Stream it again.

pulseczar 08-12-2007 07:46 PM

epitaph is relaxing in an eerie sort of way. it's like a "oh great i'm on my deathbed" relaxing

masterchaos 08-12-2007 07:49 PM
21st Century Schizoid Man is not relaxing. Stream it again.
I find it relaxing, sounds a little like Sabbath to me

edit: I can see where Jethro Tull got their sound though

or a good one lololol

Shattered_Future 08-12-2007 07:51 PM

Kamelot is...not relaxing. But they're cool.

Riva 08-12-2007 07:53 PM

Kamelot...?

Kage 08-12-2007 07:54 PM
I find it relaxing, sounds a little like Sabbath to me
How is that relaxing? Besides, you need to check out their real material, that album is weak!

And if anything Sabbath took influence from them, btw.
or a good one lololol
Aight, you best watch yourself.

Shattered_Future 08-12-2007 07:55 PM
Kamelot...?
I dunno, I'm listening to them.

Im listening to Ghost Opera right now. This stuff kinda reminds me of Areyon, but more metal

Shattered_Future 08-12-2007 07:59 PM

I don't like Ghost Opera. The first few tracks are great, and then it nosedives.

masterchaos 08-12-2007 07:59 PM

"And if anything Sabbath took influence from them, btw."

probably true, I was just pointing out the similar sound as a way to relate it to something. I listen to death metal about every second of every day (ok I listen to Dry Kill Logic and 311 a good bit)so I find many things soothing and relaxing

edit: yeah its draggin a bit for me now but the intro was pretty sweet

Kage 08-12-2007 08:05 PM

You like Maudlin of the Well?

masterchaos 08-12-2007 08:10 PM
You like Maudlin of the Well?
checkin 'em out right now.

edit: ok so they arent too bad, I dont much care for how long they take to get started as well as the harsh vocals over the "soft" parts (I listened to Catharsis of Sea...trumpet was cool) This kind of music just really isnt my thing. Just doesnt do anything for me. I think Opeth would be the closest thing to this style that I would enjoy

Kage 08-12-2007 08:15 PM

One of the best bands ever, along with King Crimson.

masterchaos 08-12-2007 08:53 PM

Maybe...but hey to each their own right?

Kage 08-12-2007 08:53 PM

No, not right. I am right.
