That Flatliners Would of shown up, but there was a confusion with promotor/band and they were kicked off the bill, Same for Edgefest, It sucks for the Flatliners, theyve had some bad luck.

Article 57 06-13-2005 10:28 AM

I saw Streetlight Manifesto in Chicago last night, with Gym Class Heroes and Whole Wheat Bread. Streetlight was last in the lineup, saving the best for last, it was ****in' amazing, thats I have to say.

Purr 06-13-2005 11:05 AM

Catch 22 - keasbey knights..amazing ska cd (getting rid of tomas was a bad thing)
Streetlight manifesto -....no words can describe them..tomas kalnoky is a genius
BOTAR - amazing

hooray for ska

StAbZ 06-13-2005 11:09 AM

i dnt think there's any way that streetlight will ever be as good as older catch 22.... they just don't have the same talent. when streetlight manifesto play catch 22 songs live, they sound crap..

the-UK-ska-scene 06-13-2005 12:46 PM

Yes, you're right, half the members of old Catch 22 plus a few other people who are about the same age, all of whom have had say... An extra ten years to hone their skills on their respective instruments, and work on their performance, obviously DON'T have the same talent as an 18-year-old high school band.

Unseen2k0 06-13-2005 12:59 PM

While I disagree with him too, he does have the right to believe what he wants. I personally think he just worded it wrong, I think he meant Catch 22 had a chrisma that can't be matched, because it's obvious on a tech. level, they've all improved. The old Catch 22 and One Cool Guy team was very good to begin with though.

Big Pimpin 06-14-2005 02:39 PM

I was wondering if anyone has a BOTAR cd. I heard they only made so many

Henrik 06-14-2005 03:54 PM

wheir can I listen to/ buy some one cool guy stuff? I can't find it anywere.

You would have been about 13 when Thomas left the band. 13 year olds are rare at shows with national touring artists and essentially nonexistant at local shows. I know two people who have seen thomas with Catch 22 and both are older than me and big parts of the New Jersey ska scene at the time. So I am curious how you are able to compare SM's live to Catch 22's.

When SM play them live, they don't sound like crap, they sound live. They don't sound like they do when they are recorded because... well... they aren't in a studio doing multiple takes to get everything perfect.

Let's Chop Cats! 06-14-2005 04:32 PM

I saw them around age 13-ish.

Henrik 06-14-2005 04:50 PM

Is 1234-1234 not on the lp-version og keasbey nights, ore is it just interpunk who made a mistake on their site?

the-UK-ska-scene 06-14-2005 05:47 PM
I was wondering if anyone has a BOTAR cd. I heard they only made so many
Yeah I think they made 200 of the original, with artwork and stuff.
Then they probably made a couple hundred more with just the cover in, like Kith has, which they sent out with late Streetlight orders.

I don't have one.

Kithkin 06-14-2005 07:20 PM

I don't know how much music a 12" can hold but Keasby Nights, with 1234 1234, is about 46 minutes long. Its 39 without. So...

the-UK-ska-scene 06-15-2005 07:17 AM

I have the LP version, and it has 12341234 on it, however mine's quite old and I don't know if they've changed it on different pressings? Mine's not like first gen, it's clear with a splatter of pink on it.

snowrocker 06-15-2005 04:37 PM

I like them much more than last Catch 22's stupid piece of crap (album)...

I agree, they lost their lead singer, and its just not as...... catch 22-ish

POINTLESS5448 06-15-2005 08:19 PM

does botar have any more songs than the 5 on a cal to arms?

Forest_Fire 06-15-2005 08:30 PM

There's a song called "One Mississippi", but I don't know about it and I don't think anyone has heard it other than the band.

Henrik 06-16-2005 03:29 PM

How many original members are still in streetlight when they tour? I mean they've had so many changes. They started out with three guys from old catch and three from one cool guy right?

ScuzzBucket89 06-16-2005 08:59 PM

They tease it live. So I have heard part.

Original members of Streetlight who still tour with them... I'm pretty sure it's just the two. Tomas, and Jim Conti. But the new members are amazing, no doubt about it :D

So I just got back from the show in Albany, Thomas said not only is Streetlight recording this summer, but BOTAR as well. Anyway, the show ruled like always, the floor was very slippery because people kept throwing water everywhere, and a really big fat girl crowd surfed on top of my head. She was wearing a tiny tennis skirt, and her massive thighs were on my shoulders, it was vile. Besides that, good times were had by all.

Brain Toad 06-17-2005 10:36 PM

Awesome to hear BOTAR recording, I am defintely going to try to buy a CD this time.

Let's Chop Cats! 06-17-2005 10:43 PM

Playing here tomorrow, depending on if I want to drive and if I can get a ticket I'm going.
