Mman I have watched still Reigning so many times it never gets boring, it's awesome when the blood poors down Tom looks so creepy and the down pour doesn't even effect there performance
|
The down pour messed up the bass. Tom had to slap and stuff, otherwise there wouldn't have been any. And it was only the bass afaik, the guitars were both fine
|
About their riffs, a riff I particularly love is the main riff of Necrophiliac
|

The intro to that song is awesome. I love the whole album to Hell Awaits. Best song on there has to be At Dawn They Sleep. About the blood effects... the whole concert when I saw them, I was waiting for that, and when they played Rainning Blood they didn't. It was a bummer. |

i wanna see still Reigning, to cheap to buy it.

Is Overt Enemy high on anyone's list?

Also Dave's cymbals didn't work very well throught the rain. |
dead skin mask, angel of death, south of heaven, seasons in abbys, bloodline(one of the few songs where you can actually hear tom's bass) are my faves.

All great songs.... South of Heaven probably my fave on that list |

It may not even be tom's bass you're hearing though, he doesn't even play bass on all of the songs in the studio, Kerry does it. Apparently he just wants to focus on his singing. and I've noticed when he plays live he plays simplified basslines (you can barely hear the bass anyway live) |

spirit in black..............legend of a song

i have war at the warfield. i still need to get still reigning. from what ive herd its good. if in most of the songs you cant hear toms bass, then it makes sense that he just concentrates on his vocals. he is getting older and he cant get the same pitches he used to, so i think its good that he is only paying attention to his vocals. |

I've seen them, great show they put on! There was a period of 6 months in my life where I literally only listened to Slayer Haha, I was a lil bit obsessed!!! |

I used to love that scream, then at the end you can hear him go owwee, and im like uh wtf..... |
Get Hell Awaits or Show No Mercy. Though Show No Mercy has terrible production quality.

I like all too much slayer: check my audioscrobbler out.

I'm really just starting to get into Slayer and they are the poo. The middle bit in Angel of Death is well phat, actually the entirte songs sick. War Ensamble is awsome. Seasons in the abyss and the first 2.30 of disciple are fookin cool. Raining blood has one of the best intro riffs ever. ITs cool when they all hit open open open in raining blood when I think Kerry goes over the top with the melody and then Tom suddenly screams RAINING BLOOD!

Other way around dude... Hell Awaits has the worst production I've ever heard, Show No Mercy I would say is average and not bad for 1983. |

Yeah I should be more psyched for it.... I never gave GHUA enough of a chance, I should go revisit that album, I think I didn't like it at the time because the vocals were too prominent in the mix |
i havent heard any slayer but i ve been meaning to check them out. Can anyone tell me some good songs so i can download some or can someone upload some for me.
|
Post-Mortem, Raining Blood, Angel of Death, War Ensemble, Season in the Abyss. Those should give you a good intro taste.
|
I love slayer and I don't know why some people consider God Hates Us all to be a bad album I didn't think it was that bad I expecially like the song bloodline.
/is wearing his slayer shirt right now. |
I don't know. It wasn't that bad really. I don't really think a Thrash band can tune down so low and get away with it. You can't palm mute the E string for so long on such a low tuning. The album sounds too Slipknot styled for my liking...especially songs like Payback.
|
Tom's vocals were pretty awful too.
|
Odd....
I thought GHUA had his best vocals overall. |
