I like "Don't Lose Touch". I mean, obviously they have much better songs but it's not horrible.

asdf 10-03-2005 08:30 PM
No, I could really care less about it being a single. I honestly think the song is terrible.
Same.

The band has some great songs. This is not one of them by any means.

AndreTheHyena 10-03-2005 08:31 PM

Well, you all have invalid opinions, so I don't care.

And to whoever complained that they didn't cuss on Conan, what the hell did you expect? That's retarded.

Lazybassplr56 10-03-2005 08:36 PM

anyone else have the conan video. I'm not waiting 30 minutes for the one the that has no sound.

rawdog 10-04-2005 01:42 AM
I really, really like "Don't Lose Touch". You guys are just pissed because it's a "single". The title track from the newest is probably my least favorite song on it.
No way man, that song is good.

123. It gets really good from about...2:10.

123. The new album doesn't do alot for my lyrically, there are one or two songs but in the past the best thing about them were Tom's voice and his lyrics. The lyrics of crime and RAR are the best.

I like that song. Violence, on the other hand, is terrible.

Tonight between 8-10pm. PBS 106.7, a local Radio station will be playing a recording from when AM! playd at the Arthouse in Melbourne.

Oh rad! tape it paul! That was the best gig of my life.

good rats 10-04-2005 04:00 AM

I plan on taping it...putting it onto my computer, and then uploading it for you guys.

I agree. As much as I like the new album, the lyrics aren't very impressive.

Jim morrison did it back in the 60's. Woooo!

Sid 10-04-2005 06:11 PM

There's nothing wrong with being on Conan, Ted Leo has been on there more than once. The people running that show have good taste.

But I agree about "don't lose touch", it's a boring song. It doesn't matter if its a single or not. I don't think any of us look at it that way. Most of us don't like the song because it's bad, not because of how popular or unpopular it is.

pedro durruti 10-04-2005 06:19 PM

At least they were on Conan. Conan is a pasty Irish god among men

rawdog 10-04-2005 08:40 PM

I really need to get my hands on a real copy of crime. What are all your favourite AM! recordings?

obese_breasts 10-04-2005 08:42 PM

Crime, Acoustic EP, RAR

Anarcho Poser 10-04-2005 08:45 PM
Crime, Acoustic EP, RAR
Yep.

obese_breasts 10-04-2005 08:46 PM

It's pretty much standard. oh and the Tom Gabel at C.O.R.E. live recording, that is propbablly their best live recording.

Anarcho Poser 10-04-2005 08:54 PM

Mos' Def.

It's kinda cool how on fuse they have sort of a punk (or as close as they can get it) theme to this episode, except the bands and songs suck.

obese_breasts 10-04-2005 08:55 PM

Oh crap, I'm missing/missed that.

Anarcho Poser 10-04-2005 08:57 PM
Oh crap, I'm missing/missed that.
It really wasn't much. There was only one video really worth watching, and in the interviews, they aren't saying anything we haven't heard before.

obese_breasts 10-04-2005 08:58 PM

alrighty

elheffe 10-04-2005 09:00 PM

i don't think the lyrics suck so much as they're just different. they seem to be more about tom's self discovery and his reactions to so much media attention more than political matters. i don't think that's selling out....I think its more like tom just had something different on his mind.

selling out will be when against me! starts writing songs to get them on mtv

obese_breasts 10-04-2005 09:01 PM

don't worry, I don't think anyone on here thinks they "sold out"

elheffe 10-04-2005 09:04 PM

i will agree that some of the songs (namely justin) are just sub-par filler songs. I think that the 3rd and 5th tracks from that stolen demo would both have been better choices. both have great lyrics and were both great live tracks too.
don't worry, I don't think anyone on here thinks they "sold out"
Johnny Quest does.

I'll be interested to see what they have to say in Rolling Stone, even though it's probably just gunna be the same crap.

obese_breasts 10-04-2005 09:06 PM

oh yeah, I had forgotten about that, I wonder if it's an article on them or just an album review?

Anarcho Poser 10-04-2005 09:08 PM

I think you're right. Those tracks should replace Violence and Justin.

elheffe 10-04-2005 09:10 PM

id be very interested to see rolling stone review the clarity record. id love to see their rating.

on conan though....they just seemed out of place. they looked like david in front of goliath...not knowing what the hell they were doing there.
