I am a big fan of TMV and there guitar player Omar is a great guitarist. But a lot of there songs he tends to make more "noise" stuff which fits i think and i like who they sound. But he can really play a guitar good, some of there stuff from there new cd Frances The Mute he plays more "structured" i guess you could say. But he does tend to stick to making noises and stuff and making random sounding solo stuff. And I have heard that live they go into long improvisions during songs so he must know what he is doing.

Some guitar solo on one of the new QOTSA tracks sucks, but they aren't that rocking really, and in genreal they're pretty crap.

first point is a good one. the second one is not. Kirk is a great soloist, yea, but there are numerous soloist who are far more talented.

who here likes tom morrelo's solos??
most of them are played on one note, very few even move string

About Tom Morello, I think he's a decent soloist, he dosen't belong on the worst soloists list, but he REALLY needs to lay off the effect pedals when he shreds.

I disagree, I contest that a pop song can have a good guitar solo.

I also contest that you can play a good sounding solo on one string. More accurately; that strings are irrelevant.

umm... most of the one's i've heard are badass but i would have to say a lot of A7x's solo's make me cringe. imo they suck hairy donkey tits. Thank you for your time
