Crust. The dirtiest of the shit pile known as punk. Crust has always been, for the most part, one of the more unknown sub-genres of punk. It, majority of the time, consists of: heavy guitar, growling vocals, blast beats or similar drum beats. The lyrical stylings of crust have generally been known to be about social issues, war crimes, various political agendas and for the most part, in support of Anarchism. I have summed it up to being anarcho-punk blended with hardcore and with a smidge of metal. Some better known crust bands include: Doom, Dropdead and Misery. Although some bands borderline with being properly labeled, either anarcho or crust, such as Aus-Rotten. My personal recommendations would be: Warcollapse, Avskum, Behind Enemy Lines, hell, i'd recommend almost any crust band.
...and there ye have it. |
Well, the reason I called them good, is because I know bands out there that totally blow Ed Gein away, I still like them though.
|
Nicely put.
|
Swallowing S'hit is probably my favourite grind band.
|
OK, crust related bands.
If Chaos UK is here Discharge and the Varukers are missing (A major influence on hc/crust/punk scene). |

If Chaos UK is here Discharge and the Varukers are missing (A major influence on hc/crust/punk scene).
That influence card's been pulled alot recently, and I've said it once, and I'll say it again; just because a band influences later bands, doesn't mean they're part of that later genre. Discharge is d-beat, and I would consider adding 'em to the list, as I do have a few d-beat bands on there. Although the Varukers are street punk, no way around that, sorry. As much as I love that band, I wouldn't put 'em on a crust list simply because they influenced crust bands. |
There is a sick crust radio show on Saturday afternoons on Stanford college radio I think. I love cruising around and scaring suburbanites to music I normally never listen to.
Hahahaha. Awesome! Though for that, Grind or Black Metal would do the best work. :thumb: |

Civil Defense Warning sirens ("Air Raid" sirens or "Tornado" sirens) repeated loudly through an expensive (or stolen..) car stereo system in densely populated areas are much more fun (yet much more likely to get you locked up.). Yeah you know those sirens that go off every first saturday of the month around noon (USA)... those. That can really wad some skivvies up on the right day. who was that kid that wanted nausea again? i can give you some. |

Listen to the split they did with Extreme noise terror. Obviously Crust.
You always have to put up bands in different genres.I heard their early singles and their whole discography. They play chaotic music yes,it's punk. But you can call it whatever you like, even Bristol punk. |
Napalm death (You Suffer is one of the best songs ever)
early Carcass i don't listen to grind that much except for when im with one of my friends. but we usually listen to it as a joke because most grind bands are really funny. like one did a song called "Ode to Ramen". the only crust i like is aus rotten, although most people hate them. i just like their music though because they had some pretty cool guitar parts. |
My favorite grind band is probably xVPOPDMx.
