I have to get one of there cds. As far as power metal goes, I only have Both Keeper of the Seven Keys and 5 Iced Earth cds. Any suggestions far as what to get next?
Both Keepers is a good start. I'd recommend some Running Wild, i'm really getting into them at the present time. Death Or Glory would be a good one to start off with. Excellent band. If you like Helloween's first few, you'll love running wild. |
Anyone in here a fan of Lost Horizon?
|
Has anyone heard "Fury of the Storm" by Dragonforce? Such an awesome song.
|
I tried to download that one under recommendation of LordDargon, but the file was corrupted. :upset:

Absolutely! Both discs are amazing. And with the original lineup back together, hopefully it's soon for a 3rd release. |
Has anyone in here heard of 3 Inches of Blood, I reccomend getting the songs: "Ride DarkHorse, Ride" and "Curse of the Lighthouse Keeper."

well....Daniel has left the band so their future isnt looking bright :( check their homepage to read his statement. |
NEW BANDS!!
heres the new Power metal groups ive been getting into: Black Majesty Cryonic Temple Wuthering Heights The Ring all cool stuff, Wuthering Heights is incredible folkish power metal...their vocalist is remisnicant of Ronnie James Dio. |
Now why the hell hasn't Sonata Artica been mentioned about 30 more times? That's a problem. Sonata brought me into Power Metal. They keep me here. I will forever bow to them. As everyone else should.
Oh yeah, CoB are ok too. :thumb: Had to register just for that. |
i like Sonata Artica, but they have more weak tracks than ones i really get into. Silence i liked alot, Winterhearts Guild had its moments, and Eleptica was no better...just not one of my favourites, though they were one of the first bands i tried out.
|
^The singers voice in Sonata is fantastic, they're one of my fav. Power Metal bands.
If people want a power metal band that don't have a high-pitched singer, I recommend Ensiferum. Its power metal, with Cookie-Monster style vocals. If people have trouble finding songs by them, I could send some over msn, my address is slipknotfan@hotmail.com. (Its an old address, I'm too lazy to change it) |
I need opinions on manticora's roots of eternity and on angra's rebirth
|
MANTICORA, good shi.t. I love their vocalist.

Rebirth is a solid album, didnt break any boundaries or make my jaw drop but its defiently a worthy release if you like them. |
From what I've heard Cryonic temple sounds a bit like Dragonforce, although I can't say much because I've only heard one Cryonic Temple song so far so I'll just hide in a corner and wait for the "Boogie Man"...
|
I really like what I've heard so far though of Cryonic Temple.

hey hey, glad you like it! they really are a gifted speed/power metal group but in terms of being like Dragonforce thats all id say they have in common. |
Pretty much every power metal band I've heard has a great deal of talent in some aspect.
|
Oh, Cryonic Temple even got me headbanging a little :p
|
The hallmark of good Power Metal is twofold in my opinion:
1. It begs you turn the speakers up with each bar. 2. You can just your head down to and rock. Rhapsody for example is the only band that's ever gotten me to bang my head to violins. Manowar has had me pumping my fists in the air the choruses. Blind Guardian you just want to sing along to so many of the songs. |
Wow, teh vocals in Lost Horizon are seriously hot. I'm watching teh video for "Against Will The Fire Burn", and I'm really liking it.
|
Daniel Hiemen (spelling?)'s voice was just......mindblowing. Its such a shame he left the group, even with a wonderful replacement it will take a miracle to to live up to his angelic voice.

I only have Winterhearts Guild, but I like them a LOT. More good songs than bad to me :D And..I think Dragonforce is my favorite Power Metal band, although I havent heard very many. Can anyone suggest some good Helloween or Iced Earth songs? |

Iced Earth- Frankenstein, The Reckoning, Ghost of Freedom, I Died For You. Also get: Hammerfall- Trailblazers, Hearts On Fire, the dragon lies bleeding, always will be. |
