I have been diggin' Desaparecidos for a while...
And now i want to get into Bright eyes (i know im going back in time :p). Wich album do you recommend, or would say is the best from them?

Little Man being Erased 07-13-2004 07:19 PM

LIFTED or The Story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground is awesome and the best Bright Eyes album to start with. It's one of my favourite albums of all-time. After that, Fevers and Mirrors is pretty bloody good as well.

Tapeworm 07-14-2004 04:49 AM

He's right, you know.

melack 07-14-2004 06:27 AM

Thanks you gyus very much, i guess i'll go with Keep your ear to the ground.

Little Man being Erased 07-14-2004 05:32 PM

Glad to help.

By the way, they dont have a guitar player. Its worth checking out.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of:

Coheed & Cambria
Taken
Death Cab For Cutie
The Deviates
Spoon

br3ad_man 07-15-2004 01:40 AM

I quite like Keane, but I think they are getting too much hype. I like:

Everybody's Changing
Bedshaped

Tapeworm 07-15-2004 07:19 AM

I don't really like them much. If I want music with bass, drums and piano, I'll take Ben Folds Five.

Tangy zizzle 07-16-2004 12:59 AM

The Mint Chicks new EP Anti-Tiger is great, it's really crazy stuff. Much more experimental than the first.

I prefer BFF too.

I'm on a Melvins kick at the moment...tomorrow I'm getting Houdini, w00t.

Woah! They have a new EP? I haven't even been able to get my hands on "Octagon x3" yet.

I'be been diggin' Beck's Mutations album and good 'ol Relationship of Command today.

Jellyspoon 07-16-2004 06:59 AM

Today on the stereo in my head I have been playing 'Everybodys gotta learn sometimes' by Beck, and also pondering how I can get that song without having to buy the whole 'Eternal sunshine...' soundtrack. (I cant d/l it either)

I have also decided to buy Oceanic by Isis, on the strength of 'Carry'

LiVe_TrOpiCaL_fIsH 07-16-2004 11:54 AM

I've been listening a lot to Bob Dylan, great lyrics and not to talk about the music.
Also Blind melon - Life ain't so ****ty (i would have puted this one on the top 10 alt songs, but got to late :D) and some latin american reggae groups (gondwana, Cultura profetica.)

And for the georgie fame fan: check out the song "yeah, yeah" or the one with van morrison and mose allison "one of this days"

in a story told 07-16-2004 06:24 PM

ive been listening to sunny day real estate - diary(great album), some american football, bright eyes - fevers and mirrors, alice in chains - jar of flies, and the cure - disintegration.

Someone got it before me :(....

Tangy zizzle 07-16-2004 11:30 PM

A Tribe Called Quest.

I've known/liked them for a while but in the past couple of days I've rediscoverd them. An amazingly talented group.

br3ad_man 07-16-2004 11:34 PM

Good work...they were the first decent hip-hop artist that I liked.

sink sink 07-17-2004 12:56 AM

Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt". Not sure why... And I've been diggin' Circle Takes The Square. Crazy stuff.

acousto77 07-17-2004 02:25 PM

One band that is great to listen to is The Stands with their album All Years Leaving.
They're kind of acoustic/folk/soft rock. I'm not really sure how to describe them but they're amazin'. I can't pick one song because they are all good.
Trust me!

Tangy zizzle 07-18-2004 12:52 AM

The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? has been declared Tangy Zizzle's Official Album of The Week

sliceoftheday 07-18-2004 02:32 AM

Timmy and the Lords of Darkness...

Now that is hard-core!

GibsonPyro 07-18-2004 04:28 PM

Well, right now I have a no doubt song stuck in my head, dammit. But i've been digging The Pixies, and Sonic Youth right now.

Ejp414 07-18-2004 04:39 PM

Broken Social Scene
Iron & Wine

Little Man being Erased 07-18-2004 05:10 PM

I'm really into Cursive at the moment. I only just got The Ugly Organ and it is brilliant. Thanks to Tapeworm for turning me onto them. :thumb:

surfwax_lp 07-18-2004 07:20 PM

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE is a pretty kickass band guys
and if you like jam bands listen to stringcheese incident

laula 07-19-2004 03:30 AM

Yes, Death Cab For Cutie are what i'm listening to mostly, they're very good. And Jimmy Eat World. And The Killers.
Has anyone got Reubens album? If i did, i'm sure i'd be listening to that, but i have no money :upset:
