^^ Ouch. That album has more pot in it than a McDonalds Hamburger.
EDIT: You always spell it TRASH not THRASH |
I think thats one hell of an album. It's my favorite togetter with peace sells ....
|
Thats how i based my opinion of best thrash album. :D... Didn't everybody? :p
no... not really. my favourites arent reign in blood or master of puppets, but i acknowledge that they are the 'best' thrash albums. |

Why are they the best though? I don't understand your logic. |
because they are both considered to be the best thrash albums ever by nearly everyone! i dont really know why though. jondur had a good post somewhere where he explained it really well, but i couldnt find it.
|
^^ Why? Why you ask? Because RiB is fucking insane. Darkness Descends may be faster but somehow RiB has a more chaotic feel, for me at least.
*listens to Raining Blood* NOW I SHALL REIGN IN BLOOD! |

You mean they are the most well known Thrash albums? They will automatically go down as 'Classics' in the history of the Genre. I kind of understand now, it's like you know these are 'classics' but you prefer another album over it....I think. |
They are classics, but by far the best. They aren't even Slayer's or Metallica's best (as far as Thrash goes).
They are also the first albums new thrash fans go for (as they are the most popular) and therefore they form an emotional bond to them, or something, so they always like them the best... Atleast, that is my therory. :p |
Ok JMetallica do you have any songs by Razor from either Shotgun Justice or Violent Restitution? I can't buy their albums anywhere and I can't find 'em for download either... not even on soulseek!
Sorry mate, I'm not sure where you can find those two albums, but you can listen to their first at http://vibrationsofdoom.com/test/rr.html :thumb: |

I kind of started with Megadeth and Metallica, but thats when I was around 9-10, so it got kinda repetitive after a bit and I started looking for more simular bands. This led me onto Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Sepultura....etc. Kinda like a growing process. |
yes. i hardly ever listen to master of puppets anymore (or any metallica for that matter) and ive recently grown out of reign in blood (i listened to it too many times i think!)
where did everyone get darkness descends by dark angel? everyone reckons its excellent on the forums but i cant find it anywhere! i cant find bonded by blood either - i have a burned copy of it and i hate burned CDs so i want to buy the real thing, but cant find it. adelaide sucks so bad :upset: |
on a good note, i picked up sepulturas Chaos AD for $22 yesterday. while its a bit too death-y for me, im sure i will grow into it :p
|
You should have got Beneath The Remains or Schizophrenia.....that is, if you don't have any Sepultura albums already. Choas AD is more straight out Heavy Metal, but sounds a bit more harder due to Max's vocals.
I don't have Darkness Descends, but I could easily pick it up at Metal Mayhem in Melbourne, not that it matters to you :p you can pick up all Exodus albums from JB-HI though. |
You should be able to pick it up on the sanity web site (as much as I HATE large record destributors)... They have all dark angel's albums, I think. They should have Bonded By Blood too. If that fails, you should be able to order it in from a local independant record shop, or any other large chain, as century media re-issued them.
As for chaos AD... It was my second Sep CD, that i got right after roots. I listened to it a few times, but even then (3 or 4 years ago) i didn't like it. Now that my horizons have expanded 10 fold, i realise what a poor album it is. It's metal, but it's sucky metal. I agree with ThrashMaster, it is far removed from death metal and you should get BTR or Schozophrenia. \m/ fantastic albums. Thrashmaster: Do you live in Australia? |
Im from Australia.... where do you guys get your cd's online?
|
I don't, I just buy them from Utopia in Sydney.

www.chaosmusic.com www.sanity.com.au Theres another good site which has a large metal range.that I cannot remember the name of right at the moment, although i have never bought from them. Also, you can find a lot of CDs cheaper overseas... save up a few $100 and order from an american site. :thumb: |
Arise had more than a nod towards death metal as did BTR while Chaos AD had more than a nod towards faggotry.
