Well, as I may have inferred in the Brand New thread; if I can learn enough about Brand New in the next few hours, I may well be getting laid more regularly again.

Sexellent.

Kif 10-07-2006 10:17 PM

Search for my Brand New FA if you can be bothered then.

but you forgot the important activity of drinking in your suggested activities[/QUOTE]

Well, not everybody is of age. You gotta think of the kids.

But ultimately I would assume that midget tossing would be much more fun whilst inebriated.

We always used to fight on the BN vs. TBS war during the olden days...

IMO, both bands have gotten too big on themselves. TBS did do a great job (better than usual) on it's AOL sessions. Brand New is as scene as anything but they've really faded upon changes...

My dose of medicine as of recently has been new Senses Fail and Boys Night Out, so go ahead and rip me open. :thumb:

Kif 10-07-2006 11:29 PM

I'll be honest, Senses Fail's new album really impressed me. Definitely in my top 10 for the year, and the fact that there's solos and no cheesy and bad lyrics makes me like them even more now.

And I've always loved BNO.

I've been digging on new Copeland recently. Nothing else that new has come out (New Jay-Z single is on the internet apparently, haven't checked it out yet though).

Dude I never hold bias to really bad reviews but that dude who gave Boys Night Out - Train Wreck a 1.5 really pissed me off. That album is one of my favorite concept albums and just the storyline in some of the songs really intrigues me.

I've always been a sucker for Senses Fail. They're new album is probably my favorite album of this year, and this autumn has presented some of the best weeks of new releases in music probably in a long time.

I really wish Brand New would lose there egos especially since they grew up in a town over from me.

This guy is my hero too...

Kif 10-07-2006 11:36 PM

Yeah, Jesse comes off as a pretencious prick at times. Mainly all the time, but they write good music and play well live, so I'm OK with that. I feel sorry for the fans that think he wants to spend time with them after shows.

I read that review too, I thought it was horrendous. Trainwreck is a superb concept album, especially since it isn't cliche in the slightest.

And recently I realized how bad SF's first EP was. They've grown a lot musically. Shame "American Death" didn't make the new album, I'd have loved to hear a proper version of that song.

Understanding In a Crash 10-07-2006 11:46 PM

I really like Senses Fail first EP. It seems light years away from there newest stuff though. American Death is on the reissue on "Let It Enfold You".

I really want to punch that dude in the face who gave Train Wreck a 1.5. He gave the single a 4/5... and he tried comparing Radiohead to Boys Night Out.

Hold on Tightly. Let go Lightly. Is an awesome song off the first album. Yeah I'll buy the Brand New album but I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed.

Storm In A Teacup 10-07-2006 11:55 PM

Senses Fail keeps getting better and better. I've hated their EP since I first heard it, but fell in love with Let It Enfold You. With the new record and the song 'American Death', they're one of my favorite bands now.

She just texted me and woke me up; gotta say I didn't see that one coming, it's normally me who has to get back to them first and then it all goes wrong.

She's hawt and keen, wootage. I am in the best mood I've been in for about 18 months.

Vince, if I can find a girl you definitly will. You might have to like a new band to get there though!

Speaking of which, I actually quite like Brand New now. Good for chilling with a beer to, I think.

Permanent Solution 10-08-2006 05:53 AM

I'm not looking for a girl right now though, I'm in girl hating mode currently hah!

But I'd be impressed if I found a girl who was into a band I didn't listen to that was actually good.

Ross 10-08-2006 06:07 AM

Hah, fair enough then. Burn the witches!

I'm really close minded on music, so it's quite easy for people to get me into new bands if they force them down my throat. I give things a chance, but my problem is getting to the stage where I'll actually listen to something new, instead of just slapping on another Rancid CD.

yourstruly 10-08-2006 07:14 AM

So Brody Dalle from The Distillers sings on a NOFX song right/wrong?, what is that song called?, I can't find out anywhere.

Ross 10-08-2006 08:31 AM

Could you be thinking of "Lori Meyers" on Punk In Drublic? In that, Kim Shattuck of The Muffs sings part of it.
