They take after the fast, brutal side of Overkill. I know you'll adore this album.
sounds cumworthy. I can't wait to leech it off you  |
Exodus
Slayer Megadeth Anthrax Testament Kreator Sodom Sepultura that should be enough to get you started.
You cant forget Overkill and Death Angel. |

Just found this Xentrix interview on Metal-Archives, it very good, and quite long to
http://www.darkside.ru/interviews/xentrix-eng.html EDIT: Found this just after i posted SODOM: Early Album Picture Disc Reissues Due This Month - Jan. 14, 2005 At the end of January, the first two SODOM picture discs in a series of five will be released on the GMR/Vinyl Maniacs label. The "Agent Orange" and "In the Sign of Evil" discs are limited to 1,000 copies each. As previously reported, SODOM has been confirmed to perform at next year's Minneapolis Mayhem 2 festival, set to take place on May 7, 2005. This will be SODOM's only North American performance. Also scheduled to appear at the festival are long-running San Francisco Bay Area metallers SADUS and Las Vegas, NV thrashers AVENGER OF BLOOD. More bands will be announced soon. SODOM are tentatively scheduled to release their first DVD in March. According to SODOM frontman Thomas "Angelripper" Such, the DVD's concert footage will will contain 23 songs. An overview of the band's career thus far and additional bonus features will also appear on the disc. "Such a giant DVD we make only once in a lifetime, so I don't want to make compromises in quality and completeness," Angelripper had previously said. "But you'll not be disappointed, the DVD will be the absolute hammer, I promise!" SODOM are expected to enter the studio in the coming months to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in August. |
I'm going to get the Sodom DVD when I can, and for the discs...are they CDs or Vinyl Records...if they're CDs, I'm going to save up my money to buy the set. I'm not going to let that opportunity pass me up.
Anywho, I just got Enemy of God today...sadly, I didn't get a bonus DVD x_x. It's like trying to find a gold ticket...it's a 50/50 chance. Anyways, I had a gift card plus Tower doesn't have the great of stuff sometimes. I have to say, even for it being a bit melodic, it's a lot better than Violent Revolution. I want to headbang but I just ate and if I headbang, my hair gets funny... |
Dammit, has Tankard ever been mentioned before? Straight up Thrash and funny as hell. If any of you haven't heard them, download 'Need Money For Beer' from their site, it's a classic...
YOU BASTARD! STILL HATE YOU....NEED MONEY FOR A ****ING BEER!! |
haha, ive been meaning to check out tankard for ages. What would you recommend?
|
Well all their albums are straight up Thrash and great, but if I had to pick out a best album, I'd say 'The Morning After'.
|
:amaze: Sodom DVD and CD's :amaze: It sounds great.
I prefer earlier Tankard, before all the songs were about beer  |
But Beer rules everyone! Boddingtons is the king of ale!

My Sacred Reich stuff came on friday, its pretty good. Its like Slayer and Leave Scars/Time Does Not Heal-era Dark Angel with Machine Head vocals

That's a point....why doesn't anybody like Machine Head? I think they're a class outfit, aside from a few bad CD's. |

I've got "Burn My Eyes", and I'd say it's a great album, just everything else by them except for maybe "Through the Ashes of Empires", is very low in comparison. P.S -Chris Kontos was a wicked drummer back when they had him |
burn my eyes is a classic the new one is a return but it aint as good, they made a wise choice bringing phil into the band and getting rid of that numetal ponce they had before [not mader the other one]
|
Hey chris, and I'm listening to machine head right now, although I only have their new album :( anyone else see them at download? they kicked arse
|
I bought my first Naplam death album yesterday Wow....

one of if not the best band there! when they got the vcrowd to split and run at each other when blocl kicked in was great. |
yeah that was amazing ;)

Because it relies a lot on heavy grooves rather than a riff assualt. |

I've never really liked Machine Head apart from a couple of tracks off Burn My Eyes. I agree with SensitiveOrgan, theres none of the riffing that Rob Flynn would've played in Vio-lence and Forbidden. |
personally i like songs to have a kind of groove to it, some that you can headbang to.
|
I love Machine Head, i like their song imperium. Thier drummer is wicked!
|
I have not heard anyone talk about Destuction here. They are ****ing awesome.

I picked up Grave Digger - Rheingold today. Best album I've heard so far in my life. Not thrash, but heavy fvcking metal done right :thumb:
As for the Machine Head question, they are a bunch of new-age groove monkeys. I'll stick to my thrash and death metal, thank you very much. |

H*ll Yeh  Wicked album, one of my favs two, but not my complete favorite
Has anyone heard of Slaughter from Canada
Good group of guys there. Did they only release the two albums, or was their a 3rd?? |
Good group of guys there. Did they only release the two albums, or was their a 3rd??
They actually only released one album, Strappado... then also a bunch of demos, some of which were long enough to be albums. Great band. |

Yes, Rheingold is a great album... one of Grave Digger's better ones, but still not my favourite of theirs either. |

That's the only one i've heard of, but my friend was telling me about on album of theirs called "Not Dead Yet".....is there such an album?? |

Yes, but it was released under the name Strappado, then recently re-released under the Slaughter name. It was also just a demo. It's excellent regardless. |
Well I suppose liking Machine Head is much like liking Pantera on here....Half hate/half like. I also found something out last night! I type too well when I'm pissed out of my brain, which totally sucks balls. I can't get away with the "But come on, I was drunk" excuse!
Crap! |
Ahhh sorry to double post. I was just listening to the Megadeth cover of Paranoid....I always piss my sides at the end of it. If anybody doesn't know what I'm on about at the end of the song Nick Menza doesn't stop playing drums and you hear Dave shout "Nick, Nick, NICK!" then he stops and you hear him shout "**** me running!".
Always cracks me up. Maybe I'm easily pleased. |

picked up two cds today:
Tempo Of The ****ed - Exodus Schizophrenia - Sepultura |
What did you think of Tempo of the ****ed? I've heard a bit of it and some of it's ok, but some of it is really bad IMO.
