Do you eat meat?
Do you enjoy living in a house/street/town without a rat infection? Do you wear leather? Killing things =/= bad.
I'm actually vegetarian lol |
Eh, you can't survive without eating something that was once alive. I have no clue what your motivations are, but most vegetarians are more about protecting sentience than life whether they realize it or not.
That being said, Do Make Say Think is one of my very favorite bands. Carry on :D |
depends what country you're in.
we're both in the UK |

I always say it's all just a matter of degrees; none of us would eat a baby, all of us kill bacteria, and one simply draws an arbitrary line in the sand somewhere and says "these edible, but don't eat these, that's sick" I usually find "don't eat anything you wouldn't kill" is a fair measure. If you're happy killing what you eat, I'll say, "fine". It's people that eat meat without really acknowledging what it is and what it requires that piss me off. Yeah, I love DMST. Aren't they great? |

I would love to kill and butcher a cow/pig/goat/deer/large animal. So interesting. |
You can, and I know people that have.
how??! Maybe it's a brain fart, but water is the only thing I can think of that you need that has never lived...
Yeah, I love DMST. A little more brisk and busy than DMST, but also amazing. Track down this album if you can: http://temporaryresidence.com/descriptions/trr26.php |
I will if you promise to get hold of Tortoise - Millions now living will never die
I didn't know we were counting plants! Fair game, it was me brain farting... |

That's my favorite of Tortoise' albums actually... Tortoise and DMST go so well together. What else you got? I'm also a fan of Mogwai, Sigur Ros, The Mercury Program, Tristeza, stuff like that. Seems like there are a lot of new bands like this coming out, it's a shame most of them are ripping off Explosions in the Sky... Anyway, I'm always down for recommendations :thumb: |
You know what's awesome? I can walk 100 yards down the road to the gun show that's going on, drop some cash on a table and walk out with an AR-15.
Yeah, at least Texas is trying to change that last time I heard. There is a waiting period if you buy from a store, but the gun show? Nah, you can have it now. Not like they're going to be in town for the (3 month I believe) waiting period. |

I'm getting pretty sick of every new post rock band being another "Explosions in the sky in the quiet bits, mogwai in the loud bits and the odd Godspeed-esque voice sample" to be honest. Just so we don't lose sight of the power of vocals as we enjoy instrumental music: The Antlers - Hospice Taking these things back to some of their roots: Neu! - Neu! And for something a little trendier: The Horrors - Primary Colours (especially the last track 'Sea within a sea') |
Right on, I'll be snagging those ASAP. Thanks!

/fixed, If you're ripping on americans, that is. |
Yeah but you don't have a right to own a gun
|
well we have the right to bear arms but people take it so far and make it like they should be able to have any weapon they want.

I don't. But americans do. |
well we have the right to bear arms but people take it so far and make it like they should be able to have any weapon they want.
The idea is that you have the right to bear arms against the government what good is a handgun, it should be Apaches or nothing |
Isn't it meant to be like the right to bare arms against the king of England and his redcoat chums?
Nicely relevant guys. |
That was probably the motivation, yeah.
Fair's fair, we were giving out monopolies like nobody's business |
My interpretation of the 2nd amendment is that you have a right to own weapons that would be appropriate in the defense of the 2nd amendment.
Actually hang on... hurr durr. |
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Sounds to me like the people in charge have weapons so the people ruled should be able to have weapons as well. So as to keep a some what balance of power if you will. |
To be fair the whole d0cument is a waste of time. They should just write a new one, that actually has some sort of relevance to modern issues, but then, they wouldn't be able to interpret it to mean pretty much anything they wanted.
