Pure, you don't have to make me a birthday thread. It would be nice but considering how AWFUL this forum currently is...its better to just leave it rather than create more worthless threads!
When you think about it, all the crap parents tell you about when you are little and you see a teenager and wish you were them, it's true. I think most people really don't think it's as great as it looked back then... I miss never getting in trouble, never having any responsibility for anything besides my new toy car.
But I can't wait for college....
Eh...17 is the perfect age. Old enough to do stuff, not old enough to get in trouble as an adult ;) But I am insanely jealous of my friends, whose parents just let them in and out whenever. |
by yegger do you mean jagermeister?
Yes. |
Well, I dunno.
I guess I make it sound a lot worse 'n it really is. I do get a pretty good amount of freedom..but only if I'm a perfect little angel. Yeah, I get a car [which I need, else I couldn't get to/from school/college because the buses don't go with my weird schedual, college doesn't HAVE buses, it's a stupidly long bike ride across town to get there, and the city bus doesn't come out to the "rich" neighborhoods], and yeah I get a midnight curfew, and yeah, I get to dress how I want [with my mom always complaining about "how provocitave I look"], but this is only because I DO NO WRONG. ~I'm *always* home on time for curfew, unless we're in a late movie that I call my parents and inform them about, because otherwise it gets pushed back ~I'm *always* in school, no skipping, and I have all A's and B's [haha, as if that's hard, seriously, art/drama/constitution?] ~I *always* do what few, menial chores I have [dishes, litterbox, nothin' special] Yadda yadda yadda. So it's a weird, un-free freedom sort of thing, and it bothers me greatly. |
I bought a Remo Fiberskyn 3 FA for my piccolo snare. I wanted it mainly for brushy stuff in the studio.
It was meant to be £14 but I got it for £10 because they didn't have the box to go with it. I haven't put it on my piccolo yet, but i'll go do it now :) |

look closely, the bass drum reso head says TAMA, but the lugs, tom mounts and badges scream MAPEX |
I wanna know how it soundsssss! I might actually go for something like that with Aquarian's Modern Vintage. I might go for the Remo's. Either way, I wanna find out a bit more 'bout'em.

I think it's a really great head actually. I didn't get to play it much though because of my dickhead neighbour, but it tuned up really really easily, and it sounds like an ambassador but a bit softer. It's great for brushwork, because it's not as harsh as other heads. |
17 was a not-so-good age for me. 18 was the best, because I was 18 for 7 months before I graduated, so I still lacked the adult responsibility crap, but I had no legal restrictions on anything. Hell, even for the summer following I had no real adult responsibilities either.
|
I hated being 17 :(.
|
I like 17.
It's going to be...interesting, being 17 and in college for the entire first semester. |
I could've graduated last year while I was 16 and turned 17 after my first semester, but my mom wouldn't let me go to real college if I did that, and Cochise Community College isn't worth it --- the credits don't count anywhere outside of AZ.
|
that must be a really crappy comunity college
|
^It's actually the state. AZ has some whack stuff actually
|
That, and it's a really crappy community college.
I mean, I actually had to take a placement test to get into English 101, because there are two Englishes before it: English 010 [English ten wtf] and English 100. Because the massive number of Mexicans. I half-assed the test and took it in like 15 minutes and got a 92% =/ |
Yeah I hear Brad Wilk is a bitch of a World History teacher too, tbh.
...what? |
whats up??
|
Lol, I made a shitty lil guitar video.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=UPb2uowVhi0 I'll have video up from my school concert last night, I played in Hotel California. |
I have so much crap that i want to work on drum-wise.

Continue working on playing open handed and generally develop my left hand more
Different ride/hi-hat patterns like paradiddles across the ride and the hi-hats while playing a beat
Go through all rudiments and extensively play them both with a metronome but also in the context of a groove
Odd time signatures. I don't really know how to move into them and get comfortable, i want a bunch of different odd time signatures in sheet music to get myself started, but i can't really find one
Polyrhytms. Get a good base in what they are and how to play them/inforporate them into the kit
I'd say that that is a pretty good list of things to get me working on, how about you? |
cool...
|
anyone know the time signature for Opeth - Deliverance?
|
anyone know the time signature for Opeth - Deliverance?
Hmm, that is metal or death metal, so i'll guess 4/4. |

College is for educating adults, some people come from other countries, etc there's a lot of reason adults need education that is lower then what would be taught in highschool. Though at least in CA, the college's are getting mad because the highschools keep pushing out idiots, the average college applicant is going into less then freshmen level college classes in basic subjects, it's very sad really. No offense to you sunshine, but if you are going to a community college, it's either by choice or force (ie you didn't get into a U.) I choose too for the first 2 years cause it's cheaper and the same classes. Lots of idiots in JC's. Drop out rates are huge. |
you're back!!
