Aren't they a stoner band? I still need to check them out sometime.

Candlemass From the 13th Sun album is really great btw.

pate 10-26-2007 10:56 AM

Yeah, that's a good album.

ATP were more stonery until their latest album.

Shattered_Future 10-26-2007 11:46 AM
No offence but how old are you? You should be allowed to listen to what you want. Also I'm not right into Alabama Thunderslightly confuzzled sea lion but from what I've heard they arn't controversial or anything.
I'm 17. I dunno, my mom's fine with all the music that I listen to. It's just names with curse words in them make her freak out a little bit. I don't really mind either...I don't have any desire to really listen to ATP.

Eliminator 10-26-2007 11:51 AM

Moss's side on the Nadja / Moss split is okay.

RetiredAt21 10-26-2007 12:27 PM

Cthonic Rites is good, too.

I saw them back in '05. They were awesome. Very energetic. I think they got a different singer now, but he's good too. I met the lead guitarist after I saw them. But yeah, it should be a good show, so have fun.

Anyone here listen to Stone Wings? Pretty cool doom act with some Melo-death tendencies I've discovered recently.

NP: Sleep - Inside the sun

Yuzz 10-27-2007 07:56 AM

Any of you guys heard of 13

They're a short-lived and mostly-female NY doom/crust quartet. During their relatively short tenure they did split 7″s with the likes of Eyehategod and Grief and appeared on a few comps, with pretty much all of it coming out on viny.

And for a brief period in the mid-90s, vocalist Alicia Morgan became editor of the infamous Metal Maniacs.

I just got a copy of ALL their recordings from a friend. THESE CHICKS GO PSYCHO!

Yeah, they're pretty good. Guitarist Liz Buckingham went on to join Electric Wizard and marry Jus Oborn.

Shattered_Future 10-27-2007 10:30 AM

Former Electric Wizard peeps? Care to hit me up with a taste of it?

ATM 10-27-2007 10:37 AM

I'd like to hear it, as well.

pate 10-27-2007 01:41 PM

I think there's some of it on that A Shitting of Doom blog.

Nuke Broadcast 10-27-2007 03:37 PM

i got all of their stuff too. other than the bad sound quality of my copies, its pretty damn good material.

Pretty much.

Guys I have been meaning to look into Pagan Altar. Recommend an album or two that I should obtain by them please.

Any Funeral Doom recommendations would also be welcomed.

/needs moar Doom.

Iron Bars 10-28-2007 08:32 AM

Pagan Altar only have 3 albums I think. I've heard Mythical and Magical and Volume I. Mythical and Magical is the better album (check out the tracks The Erl King and Samheim)

For Funeral Doom check out Ahab, Sceptisism and Thergothon if you haven't already.

For more doom recomendations: Against Nature and Reverend Bizarre have been getting alot of plays this week for me.

dUSK 10-28-2007 08:56 AM

Thank you. I'll look into that stuff, though I'm already quite a fan of Reverend Bizarre.

Iron Bars 10-28-2007 09:02 AM

I used to be turned off by the songlength but after trying them again I really started to like them.
