WHY THE HELL DOES NYC BARELY GET ANY HC SHOWS??? It bums me out that there's so much going on in NJ.

My GB shirt just came (and other stuff), and it's black. I really wanted the green one, but I guess the colors are random. I can't stand wearing black tshirts all the time though.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-18-2004 10:52 PM

There are only like 2 good venues in NYC. Continental and CB's, maybe Knitting Fac.

You should come down to NJ for shows.

shane italian 11-18-2004 10:57 PM

Visiting toxic wastelands for a mere show is quite a gamble.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-18-2004 10:57 PM

Haha, Shane's jealous.

ABC No Rio... but I've never been there. I think HORSE played there at the end of the summer when I was away. We get good shows at places like Irving and Roseland, but there's hardly any hardcore coming through. I don't know if I want to come all the way to NJ. Also, when there are hc shows in NYC, hardly anyone comes... I like it when the club isn't completely packed. There were probably 15 people there for Champion when they came through with CBK in July.

CONNER_NWHC 11-18-2004 11:17 PM

15 people for champion? that nothing.

shane italian 11-18-2004 11:20 PM

Yeah, I was going to that show but it sold out here...****ing New Yorkers.

Gotkookie 11-18-2004 11:26 PM

Good.

Feel The Darkness 11-18-2004 11:36 PM

no one could possibly be jealous of any state if they live Texas...cause we got one of the best hardcore scenes there are, hell Laredo, my town, has one of the biggest scenes, and one of the best according to the majority of the bands who have played here, in texas. which includes bands like Figure Four, Comeback Kid, Shattered Realm, Scars of Tomorrow, the Hoods, Clenched Fist, the Deal, Skaretactic, and lots, lots of others...

40 oz 2 freedom 11-18-2004 11:50 PM

+ Kids Like Us come here like every month.

South Dakota... WOO!

Not...

Well, Nodes Of Ranvier came out of Sioux Falls... And I haven't listened to them much, but I think they're metalcore maybe? I don't know, I can't remember.

Why my day was better than your suckas':

- Got When Eagles Dare, In Control, and Modern Life is War CDs for $10 altogether. Hot Topi is good for something.

- Ion Dissonance, Premonitions of War, and even Embrace Today I will admit to enjoying quite thorougly. They had to play short sets though, which kind of sucked, but it was still fun. ID were insane.

it was amazing. i didn't have any of champion's cds then... so i didn't enjoy them as much as i would have. i think i had heard a few songs though.

FINALLY! This Sunday @ CBGBs A Life Once Lost, Nora, and a few other bands. I've only heard Nora. What does ALOL sound like?

Ion Dissonance are crazy.
Wait, you don't agree with him, do you Mr. Finchevellesomenumbersattheend on AIM?
Though I don't like Finch as much as I used to, they were one of the bands that opened up new genres of music for me. If they came out with another CD, they might jump up to the top of my list. But I still really like them and What It Is To Burn is a nicely put together album. The reason I said "Project Mayhem" was I was trying to guess what the two songs that he liked was. I like the whole album.

They don't sound at all like that anymore. Cb, they sound a lot like Meshuggah now, if you've ever heard them. Really heavy, technical metal, but not like Psyopus/ID tech metal. You have to hear them. Get "Surreal Atrocities".

BuddyBigsby 11-19-2004 07:18 PM

Shane, you going to be at NIV tonight or no dice?
